Horizons New to Passenger Missions

Hi Folks

Have just started to do passenger missions and I have a question. If asked to go to a visitor beacon, as happened, I landed very close to it then what. I waited but nothing, took off and got a snotty message re drop me off you worthless ......!

What must I do to get that bit to work?

Is this the same for all points on a passenger mission?

Any help/advice gratefully received.

Clear skies to you

You don't need to land. It's like a nav beacon. You just fly close enough to it for your sensors to start scaning it. Then after about 10 seconds when the scan is done you will get further information.

Make sure you have an Advanced Discovery Scanner. If you cant afford one you will need a Basic Discovery Scanner. The thing is with the basic one you may need to go to the Nav beacon to find out where you need to go in the system. With the Advanced one you don't.

Aah, OK, just go in close, say a few hundred meters(?), scan it then vwait for further message, yes?

Many thanks if this is the case.

Like a Nav Beacon when you get close enough it scans automatically. No buttons to push.

Good luck and fly dangerous,

let us know if you have problems.

someone will help you out.

Passenger missions want you to prove you are there by scanning the tourist beacon. Just target the beacon and point your ship at it until the scan completes. You’ll get an update message in your inbox once you do this.

Just to agree—- when you can afford it please get an advanced discovery scanner and get into the habit of scanning the “sun” when you arrive in a System after a jump—- this will give you all the information you need for missions without going to Nav Beacon—— and of course earn you exploration money and rank
