New to VR

I have recently returned to ED. I have long used HSC voice packs and an ED tracker. I now want to go the next step for VR really looking for that deeper immersive playing experience.

I am looking at the Oculus Rift S to go with my Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 Super. Does anyone have this set up? Is it hard to install? Are there any complications that I need to know about?

I have done quite a bit of research on the net. It all looks ok however noting like getting feedback from the forum itself.

I've a rift s and a 2060rtx rig.
Perfect flawless.
Currently my rig is being repaired under warranty for a separate issue.
But honestly your going to love it.
Raise the in-game graphics settings slowly till you get judder in normal space then turn it down a tad.
I have mine at 1.0 supersampling and 1.5 hmd.
Rest are ultra/high.
If your using a hotas don't worry about finding it in-game it'll all happen hehe. Just bind well.

Just be aware (in case you missed it) that Odyssey won't support VR (at launch). There's no guarantee it will ever do so.
So if you're getting VR for ED - you're getting it for the base game & horizons only, at least for the forseeable future.

How was setting it up?

Ah well the only issue was sound. Had to manually point windows to the headset for record n playback. Apart from that all went well. I do run it from oculus portal rather than steam. Just my personal choice.
Voice attack and other appz work well.
One last thing... minimise all Windows till you get to the actual .exe running..then left click it and leave on windowed mode.
You'll know wot i.mean once you've done it a few times. It avoids not having your mouse pointer once you've put headset on.
Finally no keyboard in VR unless you can touch type or get a fancy overlay app.
