New type of missions and career. Rescue, repair, space emergency transport

Been thinking about it for few weeks. Why we dont have rescue missions? Repair or refuel? We have all modules for it already [heart]

For example diplomatic ship been damaged and you must fly there and repair it. Or maybe passenger/customer have injuries during exploration trip and they need ship to recover him to station in specific time. Same with refueling, same style as FuelRats, but with NPC.

I know maybe it doesnt sounds really fun, but i guess not worse than basic salvage missions or transportations. But at least some variety in missions + we have more active usage for repair/refuel limpets. Damn i am dreaming of white colored DBX, cross decals, fitted for rescue missions [cool]

It is good for faction reputation too, for example exploration ship with high value data must return to station X asap, or diplomatic ship must be on station in time, question of peace and war in system. Can be high value in rep or money.

Sorry for my english.

Good ideas. It would be cool to have missions for refueling and repair. There are already some rescue missions to go to planets and pick up lifepods.

USS Distress Call

You drop in and fight off the bad guys, but the ship in distress then just sits there complaining about the same problem. I happened to find an NPC out of fuel once, gave them 1 unit and they jumped out of the system, into another one with no stations?

Mechanics are there to set up the gamepley, but it's not being logically followed through. Yet.

Good idea.

There are many mission ideas being overlooked - unless I've not encountered them on the Mission Board...

Planetary rescue of crashed ships - using the SRV to recover survivors.
Ships stranded in space that require either repair, refuel or rescue - such as has already been mentioned (disabled ships due to attack - Thargoid or otherwise - vessels, etc.).
Planetary hostage rescue with SRV vs SRV (NPC) combat. (I've yet to encounter an NPC SRV defending ground based facilities, I think that'd be great).
Military abduction missions - whether in space or ground based.

I'm sure that many more missions of a similar type could be added to the list...

Using the "chained missions" aspect, it would seem logical these types of missions would have been longer, maybe 5 parts, one leading to the next to a final conclusion.
Part 1 could be a planetary scan which would reveal the next ( part 2 ), from there an info screen would state part 3 onward to the next and next.
Each part would have its own "hazards" to contend with getting progressively harder to accomplish in each part.
Rewards would be commensurate with the Chained Mission difficulty and increased with a "limited time" additional bonus.

Refuel missons enroute are arbitrary, you never have the refuel limpets when you need them for that kind of thing.
Since they take up cargo space, most players do not carry fuel limpets continuously.
Useless especially when the USS cannot be marked for return to exploit.
BTW, what is the T9 Trader missions that pop up in some systems for ? That is mostly useless also,
