General new utility module: thermal vent

Proposed stats:
gives a 50% bonus to both heat capacity and heat dissipation. However, as a downside, it gives a 100% boost to detection range per % of heat. It would be able to be engineered, with engineering increasing its capacity and dissipation but also boosting detection rage per % of heat (not sure by how much). There are two experimental effects: one boosts the heat dissipation while losing heat capacity, and the other boosts heat capacity while losing dissipation. It wouldn’t be of much use, if any, on a combat ship or trade, but it would be very useful on an exploration ship. Obviously, these numbers would probably have to change for balancing purposes, but I think the basic idea is sound.

any thoughts?

but also boosting detection rage per % of heat

Umm, it's not your ship that sets the detection range, it depends on what modules the "other" ship has installed, so that part won't work. I can't really see any use for this on a good exploration build though, on a poor build maybe for when you are fuel scooping, but most good builds will scoop full without overheating.

So it makes your ship less vulnerable to heat damage (like making it into a Dolphin) or run cooler but without using an expendable heat sink, with the draw back that you can be detected by another ship from further away how much further being a multiplier on their detection range based on how hard this module is working?

I see why it would only be useful to explorers though only the ones who use larger exploration ships are likely to have a spare slot for it.

Not for me.

Does that mean that if I fuel scoop while charging the FSD of my T7 at Beagle Point I don't melt but become visible from Sol?

I'm game!

Currently I don't have much heat issue with my exploration ships.

It could be useful if gameplay activities were added that took ships into very hot locations, like closer to stars. Maybe science investigation, or collecting some weird substance close to certain stars.
