New Video Released!

Greetings Commanders.

From April 2022 to November 2023, I was out in the Sagittarius-Carina Arm conducting a complete survey of a one hundred cubic light year volume of space (that's 100 ly x 100 ly x 100 ly). I was taking photos (screenshots) of some nice vistas during this expedition and I have released a video with some of those photos. By a complete survey, I mean 1) honk every system in that volume, 2) scan every body in that system, 3) surface map every body, 4) land on every body possible and 5) collect all biological samples.

Check the link below to watch the video on Youtube!

The Long Survey by Cmdr Rigel Chiokis

For a .pdf file containing my complete survey notes (in my own handwriting) use the link below. The download size is about 73mb and it is in .zip format.

All in an Asp explorer, cool.
I just finished a 5000 Ly trip in my Krait Phantom to get Professor Palin and Chloe Sedesi's approval.
Now on my way back via a different route.

Congratulations. Is this your first long distance run?

Although the did all of the survey with my Asp Explorer (Nebula Asp RC-A) I also had the fleet carrier out there as a base of operations. In my first year, I did a run from Colonia to Sagittarius A*, in my Krait Mk II. At Sag. A. I collided with the tourist beacon, destroyed my ship and lost all of that data! Then I went to Beagle Point, in the Nebula Asp, no fleet carriers in the game yet. I made it there then down to Colonia without losing the ship or the data. I had learned a few things by then (like having an AFMU on board). When I rolled into Colonia, that exploration data sold for almost 1 billion credits! But this survey, this was definitely my biggest achievement.

Wow, that was a serious commitment! Do you have an alt account in the Bubble to take a break now and again for a bit of light trading/combat, or were you exploring the whole time?

Thank you for the comment!

No, no alt account. I tried to do that earlier this year when it was on sale, but when you get it through Steam, you can only log in with one account. Or, I couldn't find another way to do it. Not really important either. Exploration has always been my thing. I got my Trade up to Elite and I've used trading to help finance the fleet carrier purchase, but I really prefer to be out in the black, alone. I've done very little combat.

This is my first long distance run.
I did a shorter run (some 700ish Ly) with an Asp Explorer some time ago.
So far i didn't run into mayor trouble. I had a few rough landings, which brought my shield down to 15%, but no real damage.
I own the game since kickstarter, but didn't have enough time for it until about a year ago.
Now i am enjoying it.
