I can still do it becuase I havent updated the game (always playing offline). They will have to take this feature from my old dead hands, because I really cant live without it anymore.
With it, when we can paint walls of the color we want and we have a few smaller walls and roofs, I can basically build anything I want without Frontier having to make a million different pieces or even mods. I can create my own structures like if it was a 3d program, thats how impressive this "bug" was.
The 2.2 update was actually a regression for all creative builders playing the game, the most annoying part is the no answer they gave in the patch notes (its basically not there intended vision of how to play the game). If they gave me a real answer (for example, it could create bugs in the future, but we know how much you liked it and we are trying to implement it well in the game as a real feature), I would just update and wait. Like when the sound department explained super well why maybe we couldnt have our own music in the game. Is something I would like to have a lot, but they said how the new sound system could create problems and that they are trying their best to find a solution. That was an excellent answer, as much as I know how hard is going to be at the end if we cant have it.
Im asking Frontier, please, just put it again as a feature, at least answer us well and TRY to add it in some way or form. Thats why we are alpha testers, to find this non intended features that work really well so its a good idea to implement them at the end, or to find things that were intended, but then they didnt work as well as you thought.
It would be impossible for me to finish this nearly perfect recreation of the station of Superman La Atraccion de Acero with all the exact details I tried to add, like the manual pitched roofs, and wall decorations if I updated the game to 2.2:
