New World Area Lighting.

It has been changed to a spotlight now.

Is this intended? Is this effect staying as is? The reason I'm asking is because one of my Franchises is inspired by Las Vegas, and - of course - lighting is everything and makes the guest areas come alive at night. In some areas, the spot lighting change to the area lighting is really REALLY welcome. In others, my lighting designs are completely ruined and need to be rebuilt using other types of light sources to get the effect I was originally going for.

Given the advantages with the change to this light, I'm ok with this change; however, just want to know if this is intended, so I can fix / adjust my designs without fear of it reverting back as an "unintended bug".
 
I’m having the same issue. My interior has gone completely dark. And I cannot find any replacement cuz my ceilings are very high, no lights could reach the floor.
 
Ok, you can click on the lights and put them to auto, on or off. Its the same switch as you have on the rides.

All my lights r set on. It’s just my interiors are lit by loads of area lights. Like u put the light inside a wall, the wall would lit up. I use this method to create a illusion of fake chandeliers lighting up the whole room. I can’t do that anymore cuz spot lights only cover a very low range of area.

My apologies for the misunderstanding. I was referring to the type of lighting. The new world area lighting was simply a light that illuminated the area around it. Now it's been changed to a smaller form of the new world spot light. Instead of illuminating the area around it, it now emits a spotlight - illuminating the area facing it. This change, I believe, is undocumented and I was just wondering if it's permanent.
 
Yeah this change has messed up all of my lighting and is a real shame. I am hoping this is a bug and not an intended outcome. If it was done intentionally then that was a big mistake, as developers on a building game you just don't change something like that this far into a release. Instead you should just add an additional light that we can use.

And a side note why is this light and the other two like it under the new world theme? It has always bugged me as there is nothing about them that says new world but rather they are just generic lights.

Agreed. I used to hide these under paths to light the areas up because they were the brightest and i dont think the other lights do much. When 8 tried to use today and saw it was the same as the spot light ive not bothered to put any lights unless wanted for effect. Or just changed my opening times so it doesn't turn to night as its too dark even with the flash light on
 
Please, PLEASE revert the lights to their previous state. The way they are currently has really messed up zoos for a lot of people.
