Can you have a....let's say.....game bought Python and then purchase a Pre-Built Python and have them both at the same time?
Thank you for your reply! You made it crystal clear and thank you again.Yes.
The difference is that you can have many in game purchased ships of the same kind while you can only ever have one instance of your ARX purchased prebuilt Python active at a time.
You CAN have multiple different ARX purchased prebuilds active at the same time but only one of each kind that you've purchased.
Let me know if this is not clear.
Unless you've set your heart on a miner or combat ship you could get one with a decent jump range then go and unlock some of the guardian modules, FSD booster, Guardian power pant etc that will help until you get your head around engineering.Thank you for your reply! I'm looking to get into the in-depth engineering part like which type of each is best suited for what I'm looking to do and also which experimental do I want to add. I also would like to know if one engineer is better than another at certain things.Yes, engineering is not bad these days.
Recently, with an alt, I did the requirement to unlock one engineer and it unlocked 4 or 5 of them at once.
And the changes to gathering engineering materials last fall have really made it accessible without as much, as they say, grind.
I did’t do any engineering for the first two years I played but now its something I can do pretty much whenever I build a new ship…
Yep this is where it gets interesting and whilst you can find this all out in game (we had to at the start) sites like INARA are really going to helpI'm looking to get into the in-depth engineering part like which type of each is best suited for what I'm looking to do and also which experimental do I want to add. I see a bunch of different engineers on my right ship panel and wonder who would be best to go to (other than distance wise) for the different things.
I second this. There are other, possibly better, sites as well but Inara is fairly straight forward in my experience regarding Engineering.Yep this is where it gets interesting and whilst you can find this all out in game (we had to at the start) sites like INARA are really going to help
Engineers
@PhoenixFire074 You may not want to go to Deciat in Open Mode unless you're interested in being hunted by other players because your ship(s) is/are not engineered. Some will let you fully engineer (G5) others only a lesser amount, i would suggest to start with max out your reputation with Felicity Farseer.
As far as I know that it still true but I had a different experience recently as I related above. Not sure if its changed (been a few years) but you used to get referrals from one engineer to another, a bit like a chain progression, again best to get some reading in.
Guardians, and their goodies, are a nice adventure/journey, especially if you go to different sites/systems rather than doing the same few over an over again. As i have said before, even if you don't start with engineering straight away, look up the guardian unlocks/quest thingys for the booster, it will increase your range and jump even on an un-engineered ship considerably.
