Newbie Questions (ony 2 :))

Good Morning everyone

Having given over about 50% of my puberty to the last elite (Speccy then Amiga) it seems fitting that now the kids have all gone I can play the new elite while I await the onset of dementia :D

I was really late to the Alpha Backers club and I understand that all of the Aplha backers freebies will not come my way as I only joined 4 weeks ago. I do have 2 questions though

I am called Cmdr Alpha Backer #xxx can I change this to Cmdr Mongoose I have tried and can not see anywhere to change this.

Also I am kinda getting attached to my little sidewinder although I am gonna get et a Cobra as soon as poss when the game goes live do we keep our ships names toys and credits from the alpha or do we start again, I would say rank but i'm a rubbish flyer so may never make it past Harmless :) I have pranged the station so often that they may cover it in bubble wrap :D

You'll be able to change your commander name later, and there will be a wipe after Beta - and welcome aboard.

You cannot change your CMDR name now but should be able to do it later.

There will be wipes now and then, so you will lose your ship and Cr during these wipes. The next wipe is planned with Alpha 4.0 release. Additional information about wipes will be released some time in advance of the wipes.

LOL, amazing the number of original Elite players who are here - even seen a fellow Electron owner.... From the Combat Scenarios I suspect we could form a rubbish pilots club..

me and my partners cousin in our 30s and we also been around elite before and cant wait to get our teeth into this iteration :)

Brings back so many memories.
