Newcomer / Intro newbie with a question

I have a simple question when you die do you lose all your credits?
I died one time and took the free ship and I lost mine 100000 credits.
so the question is what are the consequences of dying ?
I did a little bit of research but I'm getting confused because of
the alpha and beta guides and videos.

a link or a answer would be nice guys and gals thanks.

Short answer is that if you die in OPEN play (also SOLO or PRIVATE) you don't really lose your credits. What you really have is s choice between:

- starting fresh with a sidewinder (you keep your credits) or
- getting your old ship back paying your insurance premium, ie around 5-10% of the value of your ship (that you can break into individual upgraded systems)

If you lost your credit savings then it was a bug and it would be great to ticket it.

Something else to keep in mind is that any bounties or rewards that you may have achieved before dying that you have not yet cashed in at the proper station (ie shown as pending payment in your transaction tab) will be lost if you die. Pilots need to use judgment when deciding to stay and fight "just one more fight" before cashing in bounties... :p

The only gameplay mode where you lose everything is in IRONMAN Mode but that has not been implemented yet.

When you die you have to pay an insurance fee to get your ship and equipment back. By default this is 10%, some backers and testers have to pay less. You can see this amount in your right hand ship panel in the bottom left; "Rebuy Cost". Never leave a station without at least that credit balance.

Of secondary importance but still a cost, you'll also lose any bounty tokens or exploration data you've not cashed in yet.

This applies to any form of play - Open, Group or Solo. The only time you would lose credits would be if you did a Clear Save which resets everything back to normal defaults. Otherwise, you should still have any credits earned if you opt for the free replacement ship or after paying insurance for upgraded ship/equipment. :)

Also you retain your missions but you fail missions where an item required was in your ship (common sense really).
