The attacked stations and rebuilding stations have unique news articles posted in the news section of the stations. I rarely look at these and I have a feeling there are quite a few pilots who do not check it either.
When there is important stuff there such as factions requesting assistance, aid, or materials there should be some kind of notification. Simply making a flashing emblem near the news article of the news section would draw attention to the important stuff.
A better idea would be a news ticker at the top or bottom of the screen, CSPAN/CNN/ETC style that shows Local/Faction news clips, maybe just the headline for the news article, so that it is easier to see and know what is happening currently that you can join in on and help out with.
