Newsletter #28 Peek of the Week!

HAHAHAHAHA...no they are not. ;)

You want proof! Sure!

This was taken from a Meet the Team interview with John Kelly LAST SEPTEMBER.

So last September months before Alpha 1 they had blocked out ALL the ships (that we still haven't seen) and could fly them, deploy hardpoints, dock in stations and leap around the galaxy.

He was also doing detail passes on the Hauler back then which we first got to see just recently. He also implied how the different models are detailed in paralell (probably to keep things consistent between them). This to me means that every other ship (of the 25) is probably pretty close to the same detail to the ones we already have. They are just holding them back. Some just to not spoil the game and some because they also require additional game mechanics. Passenger-liners being the most obvious example.

To me it seems like FD is keeping tons of things back when it comes to game content. What we are getting is IMO the minimum we need to test out the game mechanics and netcode without at the same time "spoiling" the rest of the game.

As already been mentioned. David said in and interview just a couple days ago how they are looking at a finished version this year. He actually even tweeted about it today! ;)

SO .....

i thought that the hauler was a ''last minute idea'' to solve some commercial trade testing in beta, but it's not.. it was one of the first ship done.. interesting..

And the Adder still in the list.... amazing..

Btw remember that ''We have blocked out all the current ships and cockpits, so rough versions are all in the game and you can fly them around'' could means (considering the early sept 2013 times) 2/3 polygons for each ship and different colors to identify them (lol).

thanks Tinman for these 'forgotten informations'...
this game is like a christmas calendar ...each step in beta it's a little surprise.. :D
