Newsletter 29 - excellent communication from Frontier

Over the course of the development of this game I think one area where Frontier has been a bit weak is clear and concise information on the progress of development, the roadmap and, in some cases, what we have actually paid for. I can well understand the reasons for this - any information a developer provides can come back to haunt them as targets inevitably slip. However, too little information, or worse, ambiguous information, can cause rampant speculation and much concern (see for example the problems surrounding the end of alpha announcement).

So with that said, I'd like to commend Frontier on Newsletter #29, which I think does a great job at providing a clearer picture of what will happen down the road, while at the same time managing our expectations. As well as the date for the beginning of standard beta and the cut-off date for the expansion pass, I'm delighted to read a clear description of the difference between 'minor' and 'major' expansions, and confirmation that 'minor' expansions will be free. Excellent stuff - this was a long standing concern of mine, and it's nice to see it laid out in an unambiguous way. Good to see the expansion roadmap as well - very exciting!

I'm also very happy to see that there are no extra inducements being offered to try and attract more premium beta sales. The game sells itself, which is as it should be. What more is needed?

Good work Frontier!

agreed. latest newsletters are real joy to read, and not only because of road maps ;)

i would only request (if i may) one thing: more harmless answers please :)

Agreed. Nice newsletters. I'm wondering when they are going to release the beast of the whole galaxy to premium beta? Or are they leaving that to standard?
