that is not Lego as I remember it when I was young. Back then, everything was made with simple blocks of different size. And that was a real challenge.
I’ve been building things out of Lego for over 35 years now, and while I understand your sentiment there, I much prefer the variety of pieces we have today over the “old” days. The variety allows much more interesting model builds, and more importantly it allows a huge amount of crazy ways to utilize them in unorthodox manners. This Lego Asp is a prime example.
Which reminds me, I need to set some time aside to keep figuring it out and finish one of my own…
