Next CG should be CQC :D

CGs are all about the grind. How would they measure the grind for this?

If you really mean a straight tournament, it would be over for some very quickly and Musketeer would win anyway.

Damn right!!!! I managed to get up to Professional back in 2016 or whenever it was released... but then I got tired of waiting for an hour in the lobby between games.

XP earned would be the yardstick. Doesn't matter who wins a match or even the overall tourney, you just place into the percentiles accordingly. Part of the goal of getting a community effort going is to have enough people playing to have team deathmatch or CtF (which are completely impossible to get going today). Even if you get blown up early on then you just jump back into the fray again after the respawn timer, and with persistence you can place into a higher percentile even if you're technically "bad", though obviously getting better would help. It's a good way to get people's feet wet for zero-stakes PVP.

For the duration of the tournament, XP should be doubled so that CMDRs earn unlocks twice as quickly.

Ok, but what is the in-game lore reason for the tournament, the thing that makes it a community thing. What is the outcome? Or it would just be advertised as a bubble-wide competition?

I think CG is the wrong thing for this, but just as perhaps an annual thing (or even monthly?), perhaps with prizes (paintjobs for example, or decals).

CQC Championship is in-lore a training and recruitment tool for the Federal Navy. Recruitment numbers have fallen short lately due to the massive toll taken by Titan Cocijo's assault on Sol and Jerome Archer has tasked Utopixx Entertainment with meeting the quota 🤷‍♂️

I'm open to it being a scheduled event too, but I'm not sure how likely that would be.

I totally agree. Really, they should do a CQC tournament once a year, just to remind people that it exists.

They could even offer some of the unique variants of fighter to the winners. There are some really interesting weapons there that you don't see anywhere in the main game.

i would be up for a CQC CG... just so long as any equipment rewards were amounts based rather than results based

ie i am unlikely ever going to be able to be in the top 20% of skilled players

but sure i would like an excuse to play more CQC and if it was a CG with proper rewards it would probably get enough playing to actually have match making work as well (so its not just me vs incredibly talented players)

like the mining two just gone, this would be another i sit out. not a problem, just no interest. (the mining is an issue. but that-s another story
)
