Newcomer / Intro Next Combat ship

Hello all! I have been playing with my Viper for quite some time now, and I love it! I am equipped with pretty good combat equipment all around. I can't seem to find any more weapon upgrades at any stations, and am eager to set a goal for my next ship. I was looking for a ship that is pretty much combat focused. The Cobra MKIII seems to much of the same thing to the Viper for me to want to buy that. I was looking at ships like the Fer De Lance, but wanted to come here for some suggestions. After I get a pretty good combat ship, i hope to use it to eventually get a large multi-purpose ship, such as the Anaconda. Any suggestions much appreciated! :)

The cobra is not an upgrade from the viper if you're just doing combat. The Vulcan is a monster with it's 2 large point. You can tear through ships with it and it flies great. Imperial Clipper is also a monster ship, and it's pretty cheap for what it offers. I never flew a Fer De Lance so I can't give an opinion on it. I see the Python being better still, but throwing a Plasma Accelerator in that huge hardpoint makes me think the FDL would be fun. It's too bad it has such limited fuel and jump range...

I agree, especially for pve the vulture is an awesome choice, tears npc-condas to pieces in no time!

I was considering hte vulture myself. But wasn't sure what kind of set up i could use. And I am also currently grinding in the empire so i can maybe get Baron for the Imperial Clipper which I do want. And the FDL probably has limited fuel and jump range b/c it is a combat focused ship. I mean i only get 12.9ly on my Vulture and i feel pretty good with that.

For pure combat, there is just one ship that is within your reach: the Vulture.

Once you get the class 3 lasers on it, it's just insane. It will set you back a good 20 million to maximise its components, but even at stock equipment, it's a beast.

The vulture is awesome. Highly maneuverable and those class 3s can pack a punch.

I was having enormous fun yesterday at a RES that was spawning pythons and anacondas. With the vulture you can get really up close and personal with the bigger ships and staying glued to their six is a breeze. I made 3M CR in bounties in about 2 hours. :)
