Eager to introduce Hutton's latest semi-official carrier, the HOT PROPERTY (yes, that's my ENTIRE savings account since Alpha days GONE in one shot) live on the show last night, I duly fired it up and jumped systems just at the start. Then, during the banter bit, proceeded to tool around in the interior showing where everything was - the kitchenette, the escape pods, the comfy chair....
However, it needed a "little something else". So, jumped the carrier again and decided to buy a BAR. This IS Hutton after all... priorities are important.
So. Sunk 200 million into a small room with a bored looking barkeep. Then looked at my balance. 13 million in the carrier. 16 million in my bank.
Oops.
CMDR Flossy (the Pilots' Federation favourite) very kindly offered to help "I've got 8 billion" she says. But I can't do it that way.... has to be earned through blood, sweat and laser fire.
"Cool, put your dominator suit on, we're going to a warzone".
And yes, I took Flossy to a high intensity warzone. Before we left, I noticed a great grade 3 double engineered rocket launcher. The PERFECT weapon for Flossy.
You can see where this is going, can't you?????
We went to the first warzone and absolutely smashed it. If Flossy says she "doesn't do combat" then don't believe her. There were plasma blasts from her Manticore going off left right and centre. I ran out of ammo at one point and went hand to hand with the enemy, but sure enough, Flossy was putting down suppressing fire from a nearby tower.
Back to base, 7 million richer (yes, that was just under a 50% increase in my bank balance).
Rinse and repeat.
I charge at point Beta. Next thing I know, some "deadeye" crack shot hits me with a double tap from a rocket launcher. From behind. Cue a trip on the dropship.
"Oh dear. That wasn't you was it?" comes a voice over teamspeak.... Yes, accidental PvP made a visit to our evening's gaming.
Needless to say, we won. And then we won again for good measure. 20 Million credits in the bank - enough to pay the barman for another week and Flossy's nearly gained a combat rank!
Now - what was that line - "never fly without a rebuy"? Haven't had THAT problem since the game was released....
