There is a separate forum for Xbox, it is fairly active, probably why you don't see a lot here about it.
Like ste says, patching will occur much more quickly on PC. However, I think it will probably play out like this.
Once the last PP patch i released to PC, that will also be made available for the MS QA Review process thing. Once MS does their thing then it should be available to Xbox players.
In future releases, PC will see the major update first, but it will have bugs. Several patches until the version is stable and then that last patch is sent of to MS for review...rinse, repeat.
Basically, I don't think Xbox users will really see the patch updates, instead they will get the major updates after they have been patched up on the PC side. They will probably only get patches for anything that is truly game breaking.

Yes but it can depend on how it was installed. In this case, it wasn't downloaded right to the machine. It was from a friend's xbox with my account so I could get the discount on the game while it was still up. So I didn't buy it directly from my own machine. That might've been the problem.
Ah, that might be it. Though it really shouldn't. Authentication to the game is tied to your account and not within the game itself. You should be able to play your account on anyone's Xbox that has Elite installed. Though, this is just my best guess based on how the PC version authenticates. I've got Elite running on three computers...one in my living room, one in the bedroom and one on the laptop (my wife does indeed love me)
