NGC 7822

I was exploring a few thousand light years from the bubble when I noticed this odd streak of stars.

I couldn't figure out right away what it was or how far away it was, so I just started jumping toward it to see if it got any bigger. It did.
I extrapolated on the galaxy may and figured out it was a group of stars in a nebula NGC 7822. I thought it might be interesting so I set a course.

It's full of big blue O type stars and one or more black holes in nearly every system.

It's one of the most interesting areas I've visited so far. The colored lighting really stands out. It's worth a visit for sightseers like me.

Ooooh such lovely pictures, thank you for sharing. I'm also out in that general area exploring, and had noticed it. It piqued my curiosity and eventually I also extrapolated it's position from the galaxy map. It's probably my next destination after I turn away from the Crab nebula. :D

NGC 7822 is like a galactic signpost crying out to explorers across the vast emptiness of space saying, "Come! Visit me!"

It's a great place to visit and help bump your exploration rank up while not being too far out. The adventurous might even make an attempt toward the Heart and Soul nebulae which aren't too much further out.

The truly curious could even continue onward through the Formidine Rift seeking to unlock the mysteries that lie beyond.

What kind of jump ranges are a minimum must for the Formidine Rift? My Asp has 34.34 LY. Will it be enough or do I need to go and try to get some Engineer mod first? I don't want to go back and the Formidine Rift sounds awesome. :D

I'm in a 30LY Asp and I'm well beyond the Rift. You should have no trouble with 34LYs.

Yes, 34Ly should be good. I took the "Heisenberg Bridge" when I went across in a pre-Engineers Asp with roughly the same jump range.

Thank you! Is there any website with more information on the Rift? I'm intrigued. Not even sure where exactly it is other than past the Heart and Soul nebula.
