When you reach level 50 in CQC, you can activate "prestige" in the menu. The description says that your unlocked equipment and rank will be reset, but you will receive additional credits and a "prestige" badge next to your name to show off with.
Until reaching level 50 yesterday, I was under the impression this meant your CQC Pilot Federation rank in the right HUD panel would be reset to "helpless", something I thought would be unfortunate - I like my "professional" rank
But when I selected "prestige" from the menu, my CQC rank wasn't reset, checking in game it was still "professional" with the same progression percentage as before. Instead, it was just my CQC level that was reset to 1 (what I think is much more appropriate!)
That was quite a nice surprise!
Remark: perhaps changing the description so it says "resetting your level" instead of "resetting your rank" might be worth considering, since it is less ambiguous - your "ranks", after all, are normally those listed in the HUD, aren't they? Then again, perhaps I was the only one confused by this and everyone else understood right away what it meant
