Nice to be Home!...

Curious, how many systems did you get to?

I'm still out after more than two months and won't be back until July'ish at this rate.

Repped.

Oh - you will get used to it. Just wait until you hit your first close binary star system :D

The quad star systems are twice as much fun.

Thanks for all the nice and friendly replies!... :)

I'm not sure about the exact number of systems visited, but it is a bit over 3000, probably around 3000-3200. Not that impressive for a journey that took me 26k LYs from Sol and back to civilisation, but towards the last third of it I had to hurry home, I like dancing around in the corona of stars, and playing with planetary rings a bit too much.. so the ship took a bit of a beating very now and then.. My Cargo Hatch was rendered inoperable before I reached home!
As for my next trip, I have just purchased an Asp, and parked the Cobra. My plan for the Asp is to make it a true multirole ship, so I can dogfight in RES sites, and also take a trip out of civilization and do a combined discovery/sightseeing/mining in peace trip... :)
At some point in the future I will most likely strip down the Asp for max range and travel edgewards, though.

Welcome back CMDR!

I just got back last week after about the same 2mth period and 3k or so systems.

Hopefully your credits are better than I got for the time spent. Wasn't the reason why I went out but 68mil I thought was a bit low for 200+ hrs of exploring (lots of good stuff first explored too). Not sure if it wasn't counting all the bodies or not as detail scan count didn't increase by more than 20 after selling all the data (this should be in the 1000s now). Seems like not all my data was stored/sold but there is no way to tell for sure so I'm just having to accept it. Was hoping to get Elite rank on this trip, but fell short a rank. Looking at the levels though I will need another 50mil+ to get to Elite so its gonna be a long time lol

On the positive though, I did manage to get most of the permits from the rep boosts, so its not all bad :)

Anyways hope your trip is more fruitful :)

Welcome back!

And now you can get your clothes washed at last :D

Well, welcome back. I myself have only just headed back out. :p
Last landed in Jaques station and am heading in the vague direction of the Dumbbell nebula for the moment.

It's certainly a relief to hear your ship clamp down onto a docking pad after weeks away in the depths of space.

Where is Jacques Station at the moment? Also, how do you find it?

Now done selling data!.. Total profit of about 24 million credits. Ranked up from Surveyour to Ranger.

That's all they gave you after 2 months??
Why, those cheap b*st*rds!
To think you sacrificed a full 2 months of deep space survey, and you didn't even get elite status.. and an average income of less than 500k per day...
I feel like punching somebody in the face right now. (Especially since I am currently in deep space myself, and this is way underpaying your efforts, in my not-so-humble opinion.)

Edit: Forgive me, I got so upset I completely forgot to say Welcome home! Try the veal, it's delicious ;)
Oh, and that sprinkler thing in the bathroom you forgot what is? that's a shower, dude.

But seriously, though: there should be some kind of special bonus for hardcores that tough it out in the void for so long; I can maximum do a week myself. Helmet off to you, Commander; Respect.

As stated by others... welcome back. Unfortunately, the human species has yet to evolve past that of savages. I'd suggest a hot shower, a good meal, and get the heck out of occupied space as soon as possible before you relent to the social norms.

We do not explore for the financial goals, we explore simply because it is there to be explored. Trading has, does and always will make you more money.

Well, naturally; I am not exploring for the profit at all either. But I should say it is would be fair to get a pat on the back coming home and providing all that material, not a "what did the five fingers say to the face?" -situation..

Welcome back from a good and long journey Commander. Always great to meet someone with the rank of Ranger. Congratulations and R+ for you and your journeys

Clearly, money isn't the main reason to explore, and my method of exploration isn't particularly money efficent either. When I decide to scan a system, I scan the ice balls as well.. You can now find untold masses of brown dwarfs and iceballs with my name on them! :) This means that my numbers of Earth-likes and other high-paying objects aren't that high. I also tend to go for systems with B and O class stars.. I really like the blue giants.. and those rarely have earthlikes or terraformables. (but it is awesome when you do find an Earthlike orbiting a blue star!) :)

I have now taken that shower you keep going on about, it was awesome too!

Welcome back Cmdr. A bit low on the profits, but as said that was not the point.

I did 1.5 months out in my Asp and got about 111mil which help pay for my conda.

Still got itchy feet to head out again, but want to hang around for 1.3 to drop.

What did you scan to get the 111 Mil? I'm wondering if the OP only did primary stars.
