Nightingale Moore Orbital station.

Hi FD,

So i posted a thread on facebook about maybe making a station for Captain Sir Tom Moore, i was quite surprised at how many responses it got so thought if no one else has asked i will.

There were a few suggestions and obviously there is the need for any ideas to be scifi related which isn't the case here so i have merged a few points together to make it more feasible.

I have included the link so you can see :

So i have come up with this:

Could we have a station called maybe 'Nightingale Station Moore' and have it 100 jumps from Sol.

It could be an old hospital station, this would satisfy several suggestions on fb - 100 jumps, celebrate the nhs, celebrate Captain Sir Tom Moore.

Thanks.

Not decrying this being here, as I support it, but you might get more FD attention in the suggestions forum. But then there will probably be less viewers, so I don't want to tell you to move it!

And who is Captain Sir Tom Moore?

OP, maybe if we knew why he is so deserving, you might get your wish.

He was a 100year old guy who did 100 laps of his garden for charity and raised 32 million pounds. He was knighted by the queen, had a number 1 in the music charts (if I remember right) which also raised money.
And the plague for which he raised those millions for the NHS (National Health Service) took his life.

It's worth pointing out that the Nightingale part comes from the Nightingale hospitals which were emergency hospitals opened to provide extra intensive care capacity in the NHS during the pandemic.

The name Nightingale Moore represents two emblems of the UK's response to the Covid-19 pandemic. One representing the healthcare services who have been on the front line of the pandemic, the other the public support for the healthcare services and key workers, in this case a WW2 veteran who spent is hundredth birthday raising millions for his local hospital.

I really like the name.

Thank you Edith_The_Hutt for that, couldn't have put it better myself.

The 100 jump idea was to represent the 100 laps he did.

Perhaps deploy some of your thoughts and prayers and start a petition to have a hospital named in his honour not a stupid station in a game with zero connection to the man.
Bit harsh don't you think. There are plenty of people memorialised in games who would never be recognised otherwise.

No I don't think its harsh at all its pointless virtue signalling.

Like I said start a petition to name a hospital after the man and i'll be the first to sign up his actions and the way he inspired many during the first lockdown in the UK is worth more than a a daft station named after him in a game with zero connection to him.
