So, the mediums have thermal shock, and they still deal that much heat damage?

I have a single, LR medium thermal shock. Against most ships it doesn't do squat. If you hot-bank, use OC lasers or spam rails, it can cripple your ship.

That doesn't seem very accurate to me.

I'm sure you're aware of the current state of Thermal Shock cannons? Your target was already taking thermal damage, as shown by you kindly targeting his Cargo Hatch, literally 15 seconds after you started shooting at him - before his shields showed even the slightest health loss in his first ring. SCBs weren't in use at that point, and even if he was running super hot weapons he shouldn't have been subject to that much heat that early and you know it.

Now, I'm not specifically trying to call you out or anything - but don't pitch this as a fully legit battle. An experienced combatant such as yourself surely must realize that something is wrong with Thermal Shock when applied to cannons, regardless of you using a single medium or large Thermal Shock cannon, regardless of the modification. Despite this knowledge, you're not only using the weapon but also posting the footage.

You know just as well as I do that the re-balance for Thermal Shock modifications had the intention of bringing a ship to the cusp of thermal load, without causing any module damage if the ship was idle. This would give the victim options:- Boost too much, or constantly hold down your trigger for too much would result in module damage. This change was largely seen as a positive rebalance, because it ended the Thermal Shock meta. It effectively changed Thermal Shock into a debuff that you'd want on a single weapon which caused the target to make a tough choice, but be able to make a choice nonetheless.

I'm also sure that you're aware of the fact that a single thermal shock cannon can easily bring a target to over 130% heat with just a few consecutive hits, regardless of the victim's loadout.

I'm not going to ask you why you're using this clearly imbalanced weapon which was clearly an oversight giving way to this broken mechanic. All I'm wondering is if you consider this to be actual/legit PvP within Elite: Dangerous.

Good fight between two skilled opponents.

Liked watching the pips management and carefully placed shots. These types of fights should have commentary for an ED "Flight School" of sorts.

"Notice how when the opponent is firing and we choose not to, we adjust pips to SYS, for the shield boost. And when we need to change course or boost, we divert pips to ENG."

"See the pilot roll and then pitch. Using pitch to change direction, not yaw, results in a much quicker turn. Also see him line up on his targets projected path, rolling, so that he is automatically lined up to use pitch as the opponent passes."
