No cargo interdictions.

I did a quick search but couldn't find another thread like this, altho I'm sure there is one.

Anyone else been getting interdicted by the AI, telling you something along the lines of.. DROP CARGO OR DIE. I have no cargo, heck, it's happened in my combat ships that
CAN'T carry cargo.

Bug?

Any ship could have a cargo module added - however impractical. The pirate wouldn't necessarily know until they can cargo-scan you in normal space. I would image that there would be a case for transporting small quantities of high value in a combat-ready vessel, which may be what they are "thinking".

If you stop do they scan you and then pursue their pointless demands? That wouldn't make sense for a pirate.

If you stop do they just open fire? That wouldn't make sense for a pirate if you where in a typical cargo vessel - but maybe they feel that they need to get the drop on you since you are in a combat oriented vessel.

If you try to run away, or otherwise do not comply, then there may be some shooting involved.

Since 2.0, and especially 2.1, there are non-cargo goodies that a pirate may be after. I don't know if these are reported by a cargo scanner.

Personally I run like hell if interdicted. Although since 2.1 I have managed to evade one interdiction (first time since 2.0), but also been interdicted even though I stayed "in the blue" for most of the engagement... random huh?

I'm not sure what they do if you stop. As soon as it's clear I'm going to end up sideways in the interdiction minigame i just submit and spam boost :D

Altho I can say it happens far less in my vulture or DBS, it has happened 2 or 3 times in the last few days, more so in my ASP and t6.

And yeah, about 3s after I hit boost they say something along the lines of OK DIE.

Never had a problem escaping, was just wondering if this was intended or not.

Most of the time this happens to my traders, I'm on my way back to the edge of the bubble to pick up some more misisons.

Thanks for the reply!

*EDIT*

I believe the interdiction problem you described has to do with ship size/mass? I've tried to interdict bigger ships and kept it in the blue 95% of the time but they still break the interdiction. Perhaps they also kept it "in the blue" as much or more so than you, or like I believe. That it has to do with ship size/mass. Not sure. A clarification from FDev would be great.
