No controls in vr

Got myself a lenovo explorer to play ED in vr. Using big picture in steam and starting ED in vr works all well. Only thing is, all control is lost, even mouse / keyboard is lost.
When I play without vr, just on the monitor I can use the mouse / keyboard and a ps4 controller. Can't get the ps4 controller to work in vr (so I don't have to look at the keyboard.)
I tried using ds4 to trick the pc of thinking a xbox controller is wired. Fiddled with probably all settings in Steam regarding controls, nothing works! Aaaarrgghh!! HELP!!

Make sure that you have the Elite on the front screen by clicking on the running elite screen that way Elite has priority . You should now be able to us joystick / keyboard
