No CQC matches after Oculus Rift install - is it Norton?

I installed Rift on June 6, 2016 - and I'm loving it - but I haven't been able to get a CQC match. (Today is the 8th.) I'm going into withdrawal.

I'm just sitting here in virtual space, looking at the "seeking matches screen," waiting, waiting, and more waiting . . .

Growing facial hair. Experiencing muscle atrophy. Nails are getting rather long and sharp. You get the sorry picture.

I'm beginning to think it is something on my end. I can get into open play, though I haven't had any contacts with other players. Just NPCs. That's pretty typical for me, though.. I don't frequently run into other players. But given my issues with not getting matches in CQC, I'm thinking it could be my firewall or virus protection.

So - could it be that Norton Internet Security is playing havoc with that component of the game? Or is the problem on the other end at Frontier and this is just a coincidence in timing?

If it's Norton, suggestions for changing Norton settings would be most appreciated. (Yeah, I know, just uninstall Norton and test - I'll do that as a last resort, but I don't want to have to enter all the other exceptions I've added over the years.)

So I'll be sitting here waiting for your reply. And waiting. And waiting.

Please hurry.

Current the CQC population is very low, especially since there is a bug in VR that makes your head spawn in the wrong place. So basically you currently can't play CQC in VR. I am unhappy about it but it has been reported and they are working on it. Hopefully soon it will be fixed.

If you can connect to open play then I don't think its your anti virus that is the problem. If you want to check go to LHS 3447 in open play, which is the newbie area. There should be plenty commanders there to interact it. Or find a current CG there are usually other commanders there as well. Or try the engineer systems, those are usually loaded too.

FYI - I was having issues with CQC - Tflight hotas not working, no spaceship cockpit at all, just floating in space, a complete un-install of Norton Internet Security seems to have solved the issues. First day of successful problem-solving, so stay tuned, but, really, issues have vanished.

Unchecking functions within Norton didn't work - complete un-install was needed.

I'm not suggesting anything against Norton Internet Security - just letting all know that you might need to tinker with Norton if you are having these symptoms.

Happens the same thing to me, but I don't have NORTON, If norton operates it should block the .EXE and in anycase it will notify you if it finds conflicts.
The problem is the window during start of the match, normally you start in space(Ok Glitching somewhere) then appear in your cockpit, now it does the opposite.
If you manage to see/Find your ship passing by, you can still control it. SO the issue is only the view.

Ah, good old norton, the anit virus program that acts like a virus. Well that is what it used to be like. In the old day once you got it on your machine, was virtually impossible to get off, and used up all of your CPU to work so you couldn't do anything else.

Since those days I have avoided Norton like the plague.

Yes - uninstalling Norton seems to have solved the issue with my Hotas not working at all.

But I am having that strange issue where you are just sitting in space without a ship as Wolfox described in this thread.

Is there a fix for that, or it is a bug?

I think that's just a bug they're working on. I've no hotas problems, but as soon as I started in VR I can't play CQC. If I'm thrown into the middle of a match it's ok, but at the start of any match I'm spawned somewhere in the arena outside of the cockpit. Also going through withdrawals.
