Exactly what the title says. I’ve started a million different sandbox games now, tried tweaking every setting, every game type, but end up with the same thing. Dinosaurs don’t have environmental preferences beyond space, water, and veg type for the herbs. Can’t place any forest types. Is this on purpose? If it is, that’s extremely boring guys. If it’ not, please enlighten me on how to fix this.

WELL, I’m just going to reply to myself here and save anyone the trouble-
It appears that is ONLY the Arizona map (I would guess SW US & San Diego as well, but -ahem- I haven’t completed those so I can’t test them. While I appreciate the realism here, I don’t think just eliminating the environmental comfort is the answer to the issue of building in the desert.
Limitations are interesting. Perhaps you‘d need a larger force of rangers to check the forested enclosures more often, or maybe it’s just expensive to place forest and they die over time and need to be replaced. Maybe you require comfort gene editing of Dino’s that require forest. There are lots of options besides “no environmental comfort requirements for every dinosaur”.
