Been playing the game throughout the month of December.
Had no idea the Gifts event took place. I had to see it mentioned on ANOTHER forum that is completely unrelated to Elite, before I knew about it. At all.
And I've been PLAYING YOUR GAME throughout the month.
The current system Frontier relies upon to deliver information to players rewards people MORE for spending time outside the game, crawling forums and reading websites, than it does for actually PLAYING the game.
Simple solution: Notify us of events IN the game. A pop-up message when we load into our ship. A notice to check messages or forums even, though less ideal, would be helpful. Right now people PLAYING your game have NO way to see what is happening in your game, while people who just crawl forums and websites are rewarded with this information because they were doing something OTHER THAN actually playing.
So, thanks for giving me yet another reason to thoroughly regret purchasing Horizons. I'm...not angry. Just discouraged, with Elite and Frontier. Powerplay and top ten spam has made Galnet useless in the game, and now we HAVE TO crawl forums just to have any idea of what's going on in the game we could be playing instead.
