No free Eagle and only 1 starter system

1. Started a new game expecting to see the Eagle which I was hoping to sell and it's nowhere to be seen.

I'm an IDIOT please ignore this stupid question :(

2. Why do I always start in LHS 3447 even though the selection for new commander says a RANDOM system?

1. Check your galaxy map to see if your free Eagle is parked in another station.
2. No idea, never reset my save before (and not going to try it for testing ;) )

I've reset my save 6 times. I always restart in Trevithic Dock: LHS 3447, in a (free, and therefore unsellable) Sidewinder.

Been playing for nearly a year, reset probably 30+ times in my career, every single time it's Trevithick Dock in LHS 3447 in a "loaned" Sidewinder and 1000 credits. Which, in my opinion, sucks for just about every new player coming to the game, they have little to no option of what to do when they join up other than running over to Kremainn and hitting up the HRES for some bounty money. Which by the way, is the easiest way to "get on your feet" as you can easily make a couple million in your first hour and can quickly hop in a well fit Cobra or Viper.

I think one reason why they don't use a truly random system is the seriously limited jump range of the starting Sidewinder. It would be very easy to find yourself stuck in a cul de sac with very little to do.

That said, there are plenty of other places that would make decent starter systems. It'd be nice if FDev could pick, say, 10 of them, distributed through the central volume of explored space, and have new games start randomly at one of them.

Still, I'm speaking as someone who mainly plays single-player. For people wanting to join up in multiplayer with other friends, finding out that you've started in a system 200 light years from where your buddy is would tend to dampen the enthusiasm.

I think all new players should get a choice of the Sidey or an Eagle; I absolutely hated the Sidewinder... I think I did 2-3 jumps with it total, trading in Algae. After making a record 120CR in profits i decided "screw this", jumped in my free Eagle and began a bounty hunting career.

Well, the starting ship and location does not really matter, imho, since ou can enough money for a viper or a cobra in several hours fighting in RES or combat zones. Just let NPCs do the actual killing.

No, it was for Beta-Backers, regardless if they backed on Kickstarter or later from the shop. I backed with the Mercenary Beta Edition and i got my free eagle, which was not located in my starter system, but not far away...

Ah I see. Thanks for the clarification.
