No idea what to do

Hey,
So I bought the beta and it looks and plays fantastic, the thing is I have no idea what to do :/ I don't typically play these kinds of games and they always confuse me. Here are my questions.

1) What exactly are interdictions and why/when do they typically occur?
2) How do you travel to other cities/stars other than the default?
3) I can never find enemies for missions or know what to do, they tell me what system they are in but I have never found them. How do you approach missions?

That's all I have for now but if you have any other tips please let me know!

..JOKING watch Tutes (YT) thers a gazillion out now! :D
Btw interdictions are when another vessel with interdiction hardware disrupts your hyperdrive effectively pulling you out of hyperspace...and yes, eventually you too will be able to purchase this magical hardware.

What are you supposed to do in this game? Anything you can think of. It's not a typical game, especially now as an MMO, because there is no goal other than the one you set, other than to reach "Elite" status. It was the same way back in the original Elite. Want to Get rich? Explore the universe? Be the first one to make it to the edge of the galaxy? It's all up to you. You're not in Starfleet. You're not the CEO of a corporation, you're not the hero of any plotted adventure. You're Han Solo on the Millennium Falcon. You do whatever you think you should. You can grind as an asteroid miner, become a pirate, or a bounty hunter. You can haul cargo to earn your upgrades... or you can try your hand at smuggling for the quick buck. Play it safe and hang out in the controlled areas, or head to anarchy systems and make a name for yourself.

It's a virtual life to live however you want.

Interdictions are disruptions in super cruise, only NPC's (as far as I know) are capable of doing it. They interrupt your cruise to pirate/scan you. When it happens, just set 4 pips to engine and boost away from them. Even in the slowest ship you will be able to escape them. In addition, you can also escape backwards, and kick them in the nuts with a rail gun, but thats up to you.

You can't get outside the bubble. If FD would decork the universe, the flock would be gone. So the keep the world small to be able to control things and get the data they want.

Dunno about the missions. I've haven't done one myself.

1)As explained an interdiction is an event in which your super-cruse journey is interrupted. I believe that this is so far only possible for NPC like law enforcement or pirates (look at your comms next time it happens). Perhaps in the future it might be possible for players or alien races.

2) The map is limited in the Beta. I wonder if it will grow during Beta or remain as is?

3) That's a good question. I've not really explored missions yet. I've been too busy getting interdicted or raking up fines by accident and getting blown up by the police.
