No Insurance - Iron Man

I tried that on my last trip out for some quick exploring - an outfitted Asp with not enough credits for rebuy, and selling data at Riedquat - all in Open.

It was certainly fun! I didn't end up in a Sidewinder either :D

And that is why we all know you as a hardcore mamajama as they say !

I took my 20mil rebuy conda into some cz's and out and about in power space for a while without insurance for fun. I even solo'd a SSS that had 3 condas winged up and only had 2 shield cells.

It does get exciting when you are deshielded in a ship with well over 300mil in assets in it with less than half the rebuy cost in credits.

Well maybe that's the way to go?

I don't think it would be particularly realistic not to have the option of insurance at all.
What would be realistic is monthly payments upfront, or something like that.
Miss a monthly payment... no more insurance.

Well I was thinking .. which happens between ums and ahs and the kettle whistling... you know when you read those posts about I just bought a blah and I died doing something really daft. Often my first thoughts are, I really have to give that a go it sounds like a proper wheeze and also some really gripping game play, if done deliberately.

That's just it - you have to know and fully accept that you might lose your lovely ship at any time, for reasons that may be entirely out of your control. It won't bankrupt anyone, I'm sure that many longer-time players have ships stuffed everywhere they could liquidate for funds if needed after a catastrophe, and nobody who chooses to do so will be wailing "Oh noes I wrote-off my Python and I only have 50p and a lump of fluffy chewing gum" It's certainly an interesting way of playing.

Do you think there scope in the Game for simulation of Male members of the human race reducing the creasing in items of clothing using electricaly heated domestic devices, would lack of insureance mean that burt items of clothing would have to be replace with money earned during ironing activity

Who doesn't like a bit of ironing?

Since I play only solo, Ironman is the only way I play ED: death=save clear.

Ironman should be more than just no insurance...Ironman should be permadeath...meaning you die your save file is deleted!

How about... Ironman should be permadeath.... meaning you die and a rough individual standing watch over you, empties a shotgun into the back of your head....? Just saying thats pretty hardcore..

Fixed

IF we had more character slots I would play some perma death...was fun in DDO where if you died and no one is able to res you you had to delete the character and no store items or banks items....only item you actually loot with that character.

Now that is Ironman!

Only way i would ever do this would be when every bug has been fixed.

There is no way right now.

You can do this already if you want to just delete your saved game after you die.

Another reason I prefer my Pilot Ejection Table as an option - it still allows you to discount deaths that are bug related and shouldn't count, or choose to accept them if you feel the circumstances are colorful enough.

Hey, some IronMan players are masochists, okay? ;)
