At La Flèche zoo, Bongos and Pygmy Hippopotamus get along very well

Nothing really stops you from putting them in the same exhibit. Just because they don't have interspecies enrichment doesn't mean you're not able to combine them anyways.

It's like the african elephants, you can put them in the african savannah mix in a large enclosure and they get along well in game, you just don't get a bonus for it

I agree with the OP on this one. Taking what the CM's said about white rhino interspecific bonus, these two should have a bonus, since they follow the EAZA guidelines which in turn gives examples from real life accredited institutions.
