no live players to find

Hi,
I just want to ask if there is a place where many players come to? I never seen any player since the launch and I am playing open online mode. I fly quite a lot around Sol systems and around Auchenar (or Achenar?...) and I literally haven't seen anybody since I left my starting station.

all the newbies at launch got bundled into LHS 3447, so head down that way if you want to see more players. at least i assume there were more newbies come launch than there were gamma/beta players

There are still loads of players in LHS 3447 and its adjacent systems. I was with 3 other players in a resource extract site hunting Wanteds last night.

Do you think they are still in LHS 3447? I left it as soon as possible.
until the spawn location is changed there will be a population concentration near there. things will thin out the further from newbieville you go. for example i'm only 20Ly away from newbieville despite having done a 450Ly round trip for rares last night.

Follow the GalNet news - there are always players flying in the systems mentioned in the news, as there are opportunities there to be found.

Also, look on forums for player started initiatives, see here for example.

Ok I came to the starting system and in supercruise i have 11 FPS on low! .... normally i have 60 all the time.... what's happening? :(
there are not even many players

I have always huge drop of fps in LHS 3447, thats why I am hanging around Eravate and Apoyota and keeping myself far from this system.

Eravate and Apoyota is still pretty close haha, those are still great locations to see players very commonly, but to avoid the lag for sure :)

Sometimes see new commanders , always give them greetings.... RARELY get a reply. No manners. Ah well, they usually just move on to greener pastures..

But I really dont get that FPS drop in LHS 3447 ....there is something wrong done on the programming. My computer is above average and I use the best internet provider in our country... fiber cable, stable super fast link.... there shouldnt be any problem.... P2P ports working

most of the time i'm actively flying and don't want to take my fingers off the controls. then when i'm docked up it's all too late as even the quick reply button wont work if they are in a different instance.

the comms really need some lovin' as they are a big weak point at the moment!

that said i did manage to exchange a few "merry xmas" and also gave one guy a warning about a player pirate in the next system over. so it's not impossible to talk, just don't expect a response when i'm docking or fighting!

i dont know about FPS, but i have seen rubber banding. i think we get peer to peer networking with the servers just helping us get grouped together. so in that respect i'm not surprised to see rubber banding should i be paired with someone on a bad internet connection.

doesn't explain an FPS drop though. but if it is just that one system then just fly round the neighbouring systems. you will still see other players as they head out on their missions or decide the 100K Ls trek back to station is wearing thin.

I started in LHS3447 at Trevithink dock, there were quite a few players queuing at outpost (4-5) most I had seen. I am still in the area as building my Cobra up for exploring, but the player base has dissipated.

I still see 1 or 2 players a day though, but it's either a broken chat mechanic or they don't see the chat or want to chat as never respond to a polite hello!

Just left there, about 6 players flying around there.

Systems that need permits probably aren't the best to find players in.

Most new players don't know how to use comms. Even if they did they might not know you're a person not just AI.

If you're using voice comms some wouldn't hear you as some people play with the sound down or can't respond as they have no mic. Is there a visual indicator of voice comms? I've never seen one.

What language are you contacting them in? ASFAIK there are no ways to set your native language in E: D, and there's no way to know if the contacted player understands you. The problem with that might be that some players could see an alert "Doesn't speak English/Spanish/Thai/whatever." as an invitation to kill.

I fly around Jera and see the occasional player and always send a hello and rarely got a reply. However in the last week been getting more replies as Cmdrs get used to the coms system and stop assuming every player is a pirate/psycho bent on ruining their game I suppose.
