I've stopped playing the game but I have enjoyed the journey. This is not a whine just an observation.
I played since launch and have enjoyed combat, trading and exploring. But I've stopped playing.
Nothing is enticing me to double click that icon.
So I was wondering. What can I expect in the future that will entice me back?

You can expect FDev to implement new features.

Some will be in the DDF, some will not

Some you will have been waiting for, some you will not

Some you will see the point of, some you will not

My advice to you, is to wear sunscreen.

FD are rather silent on what new features we can expect, and when, so it's really wait & see. But sometime in the next year or two (or maybe much sooner) hopefully 'seamless' Planetary Landings. Hopefully also walking around your ship then space stations then on planets. Other stuff from the DDF Archive is speculation - e.g. MAYBE persistent NPCs.

They are probably also working to enhance the Missions, since they've already re-worked the underlying Mission *system* to be more flexible (for PP).

But probably best to just wait & see, or you'll likely end-up disappointed.

wait and see what the 'colossal' PC/MAC announcement is for aug 5 (walking around ship/station, and thargoids, have both been confirmed as not the announcement)

At minimum I'm expecting tier 2 npc's, but hoping for the 1st stage of planetary landings.

Frontier are playing their cards pretty close to their chests as usual, but they've mentioned that many developments are brewing.

Keep an eye on ED, and hopefully we'll see you back soon Commander.

Yea. I can see why you don't want to play. the issue I have with this game is its too focused on pewpew. of the things that are not pewpew, they just seem tedious and monotonous but maybe that's just me.

GAmescom is in a few weeks. They are supposed to announce something big.

Wait to see whats coming.

All i can say is it better not be an expansion that we have to pay for. Unless its the planet landing expansion and its fully fleshed out not just rocky planets landing. What i am getting at is there better be value to them asking for more cash from me anyway. I will not hand them more money for scraps.
