No love @ E3?

Ya, a little love but, I check at least a dozen PC gaming sites everyday and for the most part, ED got very little attention IMO.

What's wrong with the media sites? Maybe it just hasn't posted yet? I mean I bet I read a dozen cookie cutter articles (blurbs really) that ALL showed the new trailer and ALL got the info wrong. Alpa, really? You guys are reporters?

Ya the PB is basically the alpha renamed but, it's also much more accessible than the alpha to a lot more people. Myself included. E3 stands for "Event for Three" being Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, with the step brother Ubisoft for good measure.

The E3 coverage of ED was abysmal the media people should be ashamed of themselves but, hey Lara croft has a new hair style so I'm good.

We need a Quakecon style or Eve style event for ED and Mario can stay home.

How much was Star Citizen or No Man's Sky mentioned in comparison to Elite Dangerous?

Oh and E3 stands for Electronic Entertainment Expo. "Event For Three" might be it's nickname, but not why it's called E3.

I know what it stands for, you see what I did there? And actually No mansSky got a boat load of coverage despite being little more than a couple of trailers at this point. Star Citizen was blessedly absent in coverage.

Not hating on No Man's Sky but, no one knows what the gameplay is exactly, yet. Looks great but most trailers do.

I'm just ****** off thats all. I mean finally we get a game that isn't a copy or the 5th sequel to a doo-doo game and it gets the trailer posted typos galore and it's in a ongoing alpha.

You must remember, a lot of these guys are a lot younger than us backers. Any task more complicated than copy and paste may stress out their special snowflake abilities. They are SPECIAL! Don't anyone dare express disbelief at their inability to use copy and paste. Check your Privilege!

And in case anyone thinks I am being a huge something about this - it IS a huge problem. Industry is losing out because of educational failures. Education is losing out because of the inability to educate. There are lots of people with nothing to do, because they have never been taught to do anything :(

LOL. I have two teenage sons and even they are sick of the same old same old. Gotta run, I just read I can buy my SC pilot suit in purple with flames, be right back.

I also would blame E3 and not only the magazines/websites. Go to the official E3 website and you will notice that Elite: Dangerous doesn't even show up in a search for it. Frontier Development does, but not the game itself.
So yeah, it seems for "mainstream E3", if you forgive me this term, Elite: Dangerous is an Indie game, an "also shown in a tiny room somewhere in this building."

I can put some flames on your Elite: Dangerous pilot suit... if you'd just.. sit still.. long enough.

My piece might have been little more than a blurb, but I think I got the facts straight...

Mind you, I wasn't at the E3, so I had very little to go on. The game was not really mentioned in any of the official feeds that I caught, that's for sure.

Indeed - its only the 4th sequel ;-)

I think it got quite a nice amount of mention in the medias. There is no doubt that EA, Ubisoft, MS, Sony and Nintendo dominates the E3 though, so thats the danger by self-publishing, you might say.

They pander to the $.
What did the guy from Netherealms say when they out the new Mortal Combat X trailer up? 7million views overnight or something ridiculous... (Might be off, but still).

So that is clearly where the money is and thus games like that and the usual franchise ones get all the coverage. Its a self fulfilling prophecy.

But I thought ED did quite well in the stuff that was printed, errors aside, it was universally liked in all the press articles that did report on it and I'm sure more will come.

But only Frontier wil know if they got out of it what they hoped.

Sorry for the rant but, it's like waiting for a flower that blooms once every ten years in the dark. When it finally starts happening the wife walks in and flicks the light on.
