That video describes the hole Steam-Generation very well...

... I enjoy the game beside many others but these days the internet is a big flock of sheeps.

I understand that many things are not okay but show me a game that released in the last years were the launch went good or without problems.

I knew what I was buying when I clicked the "Buy" button. Every game I purchased in the last years I expected less than more sometimes you win sometimes you lose but some people have too much time.

Just before this gets locked I wanna say threads like this are just bad sportsmanship.
Seems like more and more games get a hype train, then a hate train. And everybody wants to get on those trains.

Useless thread is useless.

Exactly.

To OP: You were the ones who hyped it, you're the ones who face reality now. Everyone who hadn't completely exxaggerated expectations is halfway happy.

Unfortunately i've purchased it and too late for a steam refund.. People that complain about ED should really try the others "space games" and apologize to FD.. (and yes, i have also a ship in SC so i know what i'm talking about)

Fly Dangerously Commanders!! o7

While I "get it" that people may not LIKE NMS, I found it a breath of fresh air compared to elite, saying that I didnt buy into the hype either. So, some people dont like NMS, And? I find it a bit laborious that EVERYONE gets offended by this or has something to say about that........ Do some people live to complain? I get it that some feel "empowered" by raising complaints etc but really people, you are NOT complaining, you are communicating with a like minded bunch of individuals... Complaining for the sake of it just turns it into white noise, and I blank it.

Actually, I have never played the game and do not have any axe to grind. I just thought this video was a good watch. It seems like a lot of lies were told about the game containing things. Unlike the Dev diary videos for ED, these don't seem to be what ifs or hopes for dveloment plans. Direct questions were asked does the game have this or that, not will the game have this or that? The questions are asked and answered in the present tense. For what it is worth, it looks to me from this video at least that people were misled.

I purchased it off GOG which offers 30 day refunds but haven't bothered to get a refund even though I'm quite disappointed in the game. Interestingly enough my perspective on both Elite and Star Citizen has changed quite dramatically after playing NMS. I used to heavily criticize SC for being a "Ponzi scheme" but even I was impressed by the recent Gamescon demo to the point that I now feel that what they're doing in technically feasible and I even made an impulse "pledge" on the SC store as a result. I am also quite a bit less critical of Elite despite my issues with 2.1.05 because overall the game is still enjoyable even if game balance is still an issue. NMS, however, involved blatant lies from the developer about multiplayer as well as other features that are missing from the game that we got at launch. I'm still interested in seeing how NMS develops although I suspect that they simply won't have enough funding to continue any meaningful development beyond the base game which is essentially an incomplete version of what they promised. Essentially the lesson to learn here is to never lie about features that aren't technically achievable or that you have no plans to implement and also not to let the hype train inflate expectations beyond what you can deliver. I think with NMS Sean Murray intentionally let the hype train run out of control and fed into this by lying about what NMS could deliver so it's really entirely his fault in my opinion. He could have saved himself and Hello Games most of the disappointment by setting the record straight when he was giving interviews prior to NMS launch but instead he just smiled like a used car salesman and tried to make a quick buck.
