Just a few days left for us Xbox dudes.

Anyone else buying?

Look, I want rudders... But they will require a learning curve. But I feel I'm in need of a new adventure game. And I think NMS offers just that.

What are your thoughts?

Just over an hour to go!

If this were PC I'd be smashing F5!

I think I will try it—- just for the “learning curve”. ED is great but recently I feel that there is limited challenges , now having to leave Cutter in dock and face the baddies in a Krait even then when a Krait can take out a Corvette plus an Anaconda something is not right.
I don’t want 1.6 back but something to get the juices going?

I wanted to buy it a few days ago for PC, but then discovered the prices had doubled.
Now I will again wait patiently for the prices to drop.

I think I will enjoy NMS in its current state, but I do realize that it does not have great spaceship flight mechanics like ED.
It will be fun for a bit of exploration and messing around with base building I suppose.

I agree 100%.

It is really good... When you're on a planet and walking.

Flight? Absolute trash. Fortunately I expected that much, and never got the game for a flying experience.

I'm really happy with the game.

Well, I was gonna get NMS until I discovered it's not in the Japanese Xbox storefront. Now I gotta go through all the hassle of getting a USA xbox card. Come on Japan join the rest of the world already!!

No yaw that I've noticed in NMS. First impressions are good. The scope of it all is immense. It's no ED replacement, the difference between ED & NMS are like night and day. Also, reckon our whiney resident pop up pirates will be disappointed. There's no "open" mode as such. Took me a while to get my head around it, getting there, slowly.

Logged a few NMS hours last night. It’s fun. I wouldn’t compare it to ED and don’t see it as a competitor to ED. They’re very different styles and gameplay. The flight mechanics are very arcade style. So easy and boring but that’s ok with me. Nothing wrong with a different style. Does have a steep learning curve. I don’t know if I just have bad luck, but the game started me in a planet with a highly corrosive atmosphere and no shelter close by. It made for exciting time getting safe.

How’s everyone getting on with this? Just downloading at the mo, is it going to have a surprise 40gb patch waiting for me after the initial download?

The frame rate can get awfully choppy in places, i'm sure that will get patched up but frame drops when you are already limited to 30 fps top end really isn't ideal.

Other than that, I'll give it a tentative OK, at least until I can look at the multiplayer aspect.

I started a new permadeath "life" and was able to repair ship and hit space station after about 2hrs gameplay. The elements, crafting, and formulas are completely different/new, thus fun figuring that all out in how to fuel ship, etc... plus mobile tech is quite nice! Looking fwd to updated/new mods to polish everything up to make NMS likely most popular install on the SSD. Plus, if NEXT is updated for MMO (current multiplayer implementation seems to be a "first step") that will be killer!

Rather enjoying NMS, now if we could merge the two games... ED's planets are rather, umm, lacking in substance and NMS has arcade flight, perfect hybrid?
