People always complain about something. A bug, a design aspect, some balancing issue that no matter what it is balanced but not for the ones that have a hard time with it, and many other things.
No matter how you play, or how you play the game, I do understand sometimes, we get bored, doing the same things over and over, be that, jumping 1000 Ly jump after jump, trading between systems over and over, grinding kill bounties for money, etc.
But did you ever stop? Did you ever just stop for a bit, and appreciate your surroundings?
Sometimes I get amazed, by some aspects of the game.
The last one, was when I started using heat sinks for the first time, while doing so while scoping fuel from a star, I hit J to start jumping, my heat rise a lot and I deploy a heat sink. I jumped away, the temp came down and when I get in the next system I got a blast! My canopy was full of ice due to the variation of temperatures. This kind of detail for me is what keeps me playing Elite.
My first blast (like a virgin lol) was when for the first time I started to hear the cracks on my canopy and then it broke. I went like "What??? ???" Absolute amazing work and immersion!
Many of you, already experience many things, probably stuff in the game that I still haven't experienced, so, many stuff I say, it's just "beh, yea bla bla, get over it, its just normal". Well, guess what? It's not normal! Every time my canopy shatter, I get in kinda panic, but I always get a smile in my face.
It's the little things, the small details and the effort the Devs put in, that really makes my smile and contributes to my immersion. So, thank you FD for that.
Today, I get in the game, thinking what to do. Thanks to the new update I can just pull any of my ships go do whatever I want. So, I got in my Viper MK4 and though, lets get in to a high RES for a bit.
As soon I get out of the station I am greeted with this amazing view:
I have been for a while in this system, doing passenger runs, RES and some conflict zones. I always depart from the same station and today the orbits of the moon and the station were almost align with this mass gas giant.
The gas giant rigs are so large in radius, that you can see in the picture that even passes the view of the moon in this angle.
So, the next time you are traveling, leaving a station, landing on a planet, just stop for a moment, give yourself some love by appreciating the beauty of Elite, and think about it, sometimes, while you are seeing, you are not looking.
Just stop playing for a moment, and look.
p.s.
Just a small note.
I did not travel in super cruise to get into this angle, in both pictures I just left the station, I was really surprised because the moon was so close. This station has really a small orbit around it, so the size while leaving the station. You can see, I am flying in normal space when I got these screenies.
