No more 20 Mil+ Massacre Missions

So I was staying in a system that had two civil wars going on, and before the update was getting 23, 24 mil massacre missions, but now all I'm seeing is up to 10 mil missions. This was my favorite way to make credits. Even the wing missions only paid out roughly 5 mil for upwards of 174 kills which seems extreme, how often does one have a wing of 4? Even then they have to kill off separate ships so that puts off teamwork. I didn't see anything about massacre missions adjustments in the notes was curious whats up or if its an unintentional side effect of the BGS additions.
 
That's a lot better than the ones I am currently seeing. "Wing" Missions for 216 kills for 2.2 million, 175 kills for 1 million. Non-winged Solo 72 kills for 1.7 million. I just did a Assassinate Pirate lord mission for 1.2 million + 300k bounty.
That's 1 ship for 1.2 million vs. 72 for 1.7 million. Hmmmm

Methinks FD broke out the "fun" vacuum again and another activity I once enjoyed in the bin of things I don't do anymore in the name of "balance"
 
Was wondering if you guys are friendly/allied with the mission giver ? I did a massacre mission yesterday for ~45 kills and it was paying out 3 million or so.
I was at least friendly with the faction (possibly allied, can't remember...) - and this was for a solo mission.
 
For me I was neutral in those cases. All in the same system between 4 minor factions in a state of civil war.

Yes I'm allied with the faction at war, fully. I was receiving 20 million + missions (Usually 23 or 24 mil) for 108 ships. Haven't seen one over 10 mil since the update, and didn't see anything in the patch notes about it.
 
Every release - that is: every release - FDev play with the dials on mission rewards to get the balance better. With many new mission types, this is going to be especially trying for 3.0. Mission rewards are often too low or two high for the first week or two of the release. I suspect these have got unintentionally nerfed by a fix for a different type of mission; and will get re-buffed in a few days/weeks or so.

Meanwhile search for those missions that are temporarily over-buffed and profit from this period of fluctuation...

Yea seems to be the case here, bummer too that was a fun way to make decent amounts of credits, while still having to fight for it. I don't like the loophole high yielding credit missions much

You could always get a multi crew with two fighters and make some credits that way but I don't quite know how well that would work.
 
Sorry for hijacking your thread but this has bugged me since I started playing a couple of weeks ago.

Why "massacre"? Isn't it overly agressive?

Would a democratic government really use "massacre" rather than a more politically-correct "eliminate" in order to get some bothersome elements out of the way?

Am I too sensitive to live in space?

I’m with ya mate but without massacre missions you couldn’t train for haz RES stuff like I do. I would use CZ for training not getting used to your new ship without the mass lock factor.

Oh don't get me wrong! I'm as bloodthirsty as the next guy or gal! Just, you know, not openly so... ;)

Call it an Elimination Mission and I'll jump on it!

Massacre mission sounds like I'm free to take out much more than just the bad guy... *shudders* I don't want to become the bad guy I'm hunting!

Hey, if that's the case, then its our duty to complain on the forums about it.

Massacre missions are easily the highest risk, highest reward missions out there, and pilots should be well paid for participating in them. Hell, my only incentive to upgrade my ship is to improve my survivability in a CZ.

Massacre missions are a extreme HIGH GRADE missions that require a High END SHIP to make it... they NEED TO BE the best way to make money in the game... since even the RANK (COMBAT) that are used to calculate the reward are the slower rank to level-up.
I don't know what frontier have against this kind of mission, that really brings FUN to the game, but in every update they nerf it a little more.
