Dinosaurs No more big dinosaurs

Your Feature Request / Idea
I greatly appreciate that the dev team has been committed to consistently adding new dinosaurs to the game, and I do enjoy the new additions with the Cretaceous pack. However, I feel like the new additions are kind of oversaturating an already jam-packed roster, which we can barely enjoy to its full potential due to the comparatively small size of the sandbox map. Personally I'd much rather see future DLC focus on new buildings/attractions instead of new dinosaurs, but if the devs are insistent upon more dinos I would highly recommend focusing on smaller species. While big dinos are cool, they need lots of space (and even with the habitat needs toggled off it just looks silly to cram huge behemoths into tiny zoo exhibits). Focusing on small dinos would give us more interesting variety without adding too much raw tonnage to a roster that's already breaking the scale. And with the smaller species, there's an opportunity to introduce much-coveted feather skins without having to change any established canon species (i'm looking at you Velociraptor).

Although I definitely want more large dinos, you are right that there is a sever lack of smaller dinos. There are not even any small herbivores from the Jurassic era *cough cough dryosaurus*. Would definitely be nice to have more small dinos.

I was hoping that the Dreadnoughtus was going to be massive. Then have the rest smaller. The 3 largest sauropods kinda feel the same at the moment.

Me Too!

No! We consumers want them to be bigger, louder, cooler, and have more teeth!

For limited space, yes. I would suggest them to bundle new sandbox maps to future Dino packs. $5-$6 would be a good deal.

A sauropod I'd like to see is Europasaurus. It's like a cute tiny Brachiosaur at only around 6 meters. Still not the smallest dinosaur ofc. And we could definitely also use some other smaller dinosaurs. Others have also been requesting Dryosaurus a lot.

I like this idea. The roster really is overly jam-packed as it stands now.

There are many smaller species already hidden within JWE. They've just been roided up to extremes. Let's take a little look at what exists in the game right now, the worst offenders (all in-game lengths credited to hiplobonoxa at the JWE sub-reddit!):

Ceratopsids:

- Chasmosaurus: 7.5 meters length in-game. Actual estimates put it at up to 4.8 meters length (-2.7 meters)
- Pentaceratops: 7.9 meters length in-game. Actual estimates put it at up to 6 meters length (-1.9 meters)
- Sinoceratops: 8.1 meters length in-game. Actual estimates put it at no longer than 7 meters length (-1.1 meters)
- Styracosaurus: 8.0 meters length in-game. Actual estimates put it about 5.5 meters length (-2.5 meters)
- Torosaurus: This dinosaur is pretty much accurate in-game size (Actual 8-9 meters length)
- Triceratops: 9.9 meters length in-game. Actual estimates put it up to 9.0 meters length (-0.9 meters)

Stegosaurs

- Chungkingosaurus: 9.0 meters length in-game. Actual estimates about 5 meters length (-4 meters)
- Gigantspinosaurus: 7.7 meters length in-game. Actual estimates about 4.2 meters length (-3.5 meters)
- Huayangosaurus: 8.5 meters length in-game. Actual estimates about 4.5 meters length (-4 meters)
- Kentrosaurus: 8.8 meters length in-game. Actual estimates up to 5.5 meters length (-3.3 meters)
- Stegosaurus : 9.8 meters in-game length. Actual estimates about 9.0 meters length (-0.8 meters)

Ankylosaurs/Nodosaurs

- Ankylosaurus: In-game length about accurate (7-8 meters)
- Crichtonsaurus: 7.1 meters length in-game. Actual estimates about 3.5 meters length (-3.6 meters)
- Nodosaurus: 5.9 meters in-game length about high-end accurate (4-6 meters)
- Polacanthus: 7.1 meters length in-game. Actual estimates about 5 meters length (-2.1 meters)
- Sauropelta: 8.0 meters length in-game: Actual estimates up to 5.2 meters length (-2.8 meters)

Some carnivores

- Allosaurus: 12.0 meters length in-game, which is the rare extreme specimen. Most estimates put it at up to 10 meters length.
- Baryonyx: 9.2 meters length in-game, which is about accurate with higher estimates.
- Carcharodontosaurus: 15 meters length in-game. Actual estimates about 13 meters length (-2.0 meters)
- Carnotaurus: 10.4 meters length in-game. Actual estimate for lone specimen up to 9.0 meters length (-1.4 meters)
- Ceratosaurus: Size update 9.0 meters length in-game. Actual estimates up to 7 meters length (-2.0 meters)
- Giganotosaurus: 15.5 meters length in-game. Actual estimates up to 13 meters length (-2.5 meters)
- Majungasaurus: 9.0 meters length in-game. Actual estimates don't exceed 8.0 meters length (-1.0 meters)
- Metriacanthosaurus: 8 meters length in-game. Actual estimates about 6 meters length (-2.0 meters)
- Spinosaurus: 15 meters length in-game about accurate with actual higher-end estimates.
- Suchomimus: 11.5 meters length in-game just slightly more than most actual estimates of 11 meters length.
- Tyrannosaurus rex: 13.5 meters length in-game (based on "Rexy"). Actual estimates about 12.5 meters length (-1.0 meter)

Sauropods

- Apatosaurus: 24.4 meters length in-game which is a rare high-end estimate. Actual estimates up to 23 meters length.
- Brachiosaurus: 18.8 meters length in-game. Actual estimates up to 21 meters length (about +2.0 meters)
- Camarasaurus: 18.0 meters length in-game. Actual estimates up to 23 meters high-end length (C.supremus).
- Diplodocus: 29.0 meters length in-game. Actual estimates for the larger type, D.hallorum, put it up to 32 meters length.
- Dreadnoughtus: 18.6 meters length in-game. Actual estimates about 26 meters length (+7.4 meters)
- Mamenchisaurus: 26 meters length in-game, which is about the actual estimated length. However, one recovered specimen has been estimated up to 35 meters length!

Others

- Gallimimus: 4.6 meters length in-game. Actual estimates 6 meters length (+1.4 meters)
- Dracorex: 3.5 meters length in-game. Actual estimates up to 3 meters length (-0.5 meters)
- Muttaburrasaurus: 8.7 meters length in-game. Actual estimates up to 8 meters length (-0.7 meters)
- Olorotitan: 10.1 meters length in-game. Actual estimates about 8 meters length (-2.1 meters)
- Tsintaosaurus: 10 meters length in-game. Actual estimates up to 8.3 meters length (-1.7 meters)
- Troodon: 3 meters length in-game. Actual estimates about 2.4 meters length (-0.6 meters)

While not exactly small, the Ceratopsids, Stegosaurs, and Ankylosaurs/Nodosaurs need A LOT of work to give the game a wider variety of smaller species.

And, again, all credit for in-game lengths go to hiplobonoxa who put in the awesome work at the JWE sub-reddit.

I think OP was talking about small herbivores and small carnivores like Struthiomimus and raptors. Dinos like triceratops and stegos although classified as armored dinosaurs are still a medium size. There are plenty of medium sized dinos in the game as well as large ones but as of now for small there are...

-struthiomimus
-gallimimus
-archaeornithomimus

-dracorex
-stygimoloch
-pachycephalasaurus

-dilophosaurus
-deinonychus
-velociraptor

I could be forgetting some but out of nine there are really 3 or 4 "types" depending on how you look at it and none from the Jurassic era. Some I would suggest (from other eras as well)

-dryosaurus (of course)
-ornitholestes (sorry for my spelling)
-hamolcehpale
-pernocephale
-dysalotosaurus
-herrarasuarus (maybe medium carnivore? idk honestly)
-hypsis

those are some small dinos off the top of my head

Oh, I know. I was mainly referring to the Ceratopsids, Stegosaurs, and Ankylosaurs/Nodosaurs. The rest that were mentioned were just a fun bonus.

I was trying to point out that the game already has many relatively smaller dinosaurs as it is. It's just that all of the buffed-up sizes make it seem that most everything is big, other than the ones that you mentioned.
