No more Dev Diaries?

I greatly appreciate the newsletters, however, they do lack substance when it comes to development progress compared to the dev diaries which they replaced (at least it seems like the dev diaries are no more?).

I would like to see less about the current state of the game, Elite lore, marketing events etc, and more about what is in the works and what to expect in the next versions.

So you want them to spill it all?

Not very exciting is it.. :D

Except for reminding us what they have already told us, or making promises that they might not be able to keep, I don't see what else they could give us that would be worth their time.

Edit: The slow trickle every week isn't as impressive as the less regular newsletters they used to do, but the regularity is much better imo.

.... the beta was released quite late in the evening and it must have cost FD a packet in overtime, better to give a rough estimate and not have a last minute rush to meet a hard deadline in my view.

Overtime? I doubt they pay overtime.

That was a good old fashioned late one, possibly followed by a last orders pint on the way home! ;)

I really look forward to the newletters each week. Yes, the last couple might not have had anything massive in them, but it's still something to look forward to whilst they beaver away at Beta 2.

I do miss DBOBE and Mr Brookes videos though. I realise they can't keep up with the frequency they had before when they were trying to raise the cash, but it's been a very long time since we've had one.

I don't know, I was pretty excited to see/hear about the outposts coming in Beta 2. Anything new for us grizzled backers is guaranteed to get the excitement going.
