No more Lavian Brandy?

So I just unlocked Didi vatterman and was looking forward to sitting in lave station all day waiting for Lavian Brandy to spawn whilst watching Netflix.

Upon getting to lave station, I've found that the controlling faction is in a state of retreat and the commodities market no longer sells Lavian Brandy.

What do?

Settle back and binge watch until it sorts itself out.

Or go do something else in the meantime. I hear there is an "outside" now with parks and fresh air. Plus, a friend tells me there are soft, curvy creatures out there called "girls." :D

I'm very curious about this too. I kinda remember some rare trade items going off the market and come back again but I may be confusing things. I'm curious now too. Anyone got any idea?

Waters of Shintara had gone AWOL yesterday. I was at a loss as to what to haul back to my PP centre ready for the new cycle.

I have just drunk half a bottle of the stuff and I have completely forgotten where I am and what I am doing. Now this Engineer Person says he wants some, goodness knows what for?

Lave was in war until yesterday when a group managed to end this war. So, yesterday Lave was back again with 7-10 Lavian Brandy supply.

I am just to start the game, so will have a look.

Started a retreat state today which seems to have bombed it back to zero again.

I have nothing against the supply of Rares changing with state but coupling this with a large requirement to unlock an engineer is a bit much when the rare can be removed or reduced for days or over a week at a time depending on state.

For trading its fine just skip that rare for a while but for opening an engineer its, at best, extremely frustrating.

I try to stay positive... but...

Edit: Ok, I'm a bit clueless when it comes to BGS mechanics, but retreat is the state after failing to expand, yes? And you say they were at war until yesterday? So how did they go from war to retreat so fast?

If its got a negative state going on production gets restricted, I did half of the Fujin tea thinking it only restocked 2 at a time but it was in civil war and once that ended I could buy 8-10 in one go.

I've yet to find out for sure if positive states can take production over the pre-2.1 caps. It's fine if war drops it, but why can't boom double it (rather that just restore previous values)?

Retreat happens if the influence remains low in a system they have expanded to.

Retreat was already queued up while the war was active, went active as next state.

Thanks for clarifying.

So basically you can try to "fix" the state of one of these factions and instead it can flip into an equally undesirable or worse state? Not great for motivation if so.

pick your grind wall folks:

1. do you grind for 200 tons of lavian brandy when it doesn't even spawn

2. do you grind for exquisite focus crystals when you can't even get a single one?

3. do you grind for professor palin who is hidden behind two engineer's rank 3, 25 modular terminals, 25 unknown fragments, and a 5000 ly exploration trip.

4. or maybe you are grinding for a different grade 5 material, such as pharmaceutical isolators, modified embedded firmware, antimony, or others.

Personally it's back to the exquisite focus crystal grind for me, hopefully someone sorts out this BGS business :)

Yeah, definitely a bit of a setback in the effort to get the rare production back up. The controlling faction is in at least 6 systems, so keeping the Brandy available is going to be a constant challenge. It might take us a couple weeks to get it stabilized. Even then, it will always be susceptible to limiting states.

FD have finally killed rare trading. :(

Tying Engineers access to the BGS or outright broken mechanics like faction invites brings my      to a boil.

This is the first major patch that actually adds something to do besides boring planetary tourism and I swear to god half the feature set is broken. It's like they want to cultivate more negative reviews or something.

Boom increases sell prices of all rares for about 10%. Supply rates increase and buy price is about 10% higher than normal.

Yes, thats somehow true. And the efforts, at least my motivation, to collect as much information as possible is killed too.
So the project to collect all buy and sell prices of a 59 rares routes is stopped for a while.

OMG No, I bet that during max. half hour, there will be someone who will explain you, that this is not a bug but a feature and everything works as intended and the only fault is your game playstyle, because you should be enjoying the game slowly :)

Thanks for the info. Ten percent is a pretty weak increase for the work involved (seems to be a recurring issue). This is especially true of rares allotments, which are single digit to low teens to begin with. It's probably why negative states can wipe them totally out so easily.

Clearly I was supposed to be Allied with all the obscure and useless minor factions that offered worthless permits before 2.1 dropped, and I should have hoarded meta-alloys, Lavian Brandy, and other obscure crap in advance too.

Ten bucks some enterprising schmuck is going to try and get all the stations needed for Engineer access disabled via UAs, and the only counter is going to be hundreds of people making this game their second job shipping in Meta-Alloys to affected systems.
