No more Lavian Brandy?

Clearly I was supposed to be Allied with all the obscure and useless minor factions that offered worthless permits before 2.1 dropped, and I should have hoarded meta-alloys, Lavian Brandy, and other obscure crap in advance too.

Ten bucks some enterprising schmuck is going to try and get all the stations needed for Engineer access disabled via UAs, and the only counter is going to be hundreds of people making this game their second job shipping in Meta-Alloys to affected systems.

Don't tell, it's a surprise ;)

You mean those meta-alloys which are currently broken and in the meantime (until they will be fixed soon) can be bought only at the exactly one point in the whole Universe in lots of 9 ? :)

That's going to be really, really difficult with only a few available at a time for 100,000 credits apiece in Maia. What with the barnacles bugged and all.

Wait, was that the joke?

OMG No, I bet that during max. half hour, there will be someone who will explain you, that this is not a bug but a feature and everything works as intended and the only fault is your game playstyle, because you should be enjoying the game slowly :)
imo, those are two different issues. It very well might be working as intended and not a bug. That doesn't mean it was a good idea, or that it's any fun for the players.

I've personally put almost 30 hours into getting Lavian Brandy restored to normal levels instead of unlocking upgrades to my own ship. Same for other members of our group. So to encounter another state that limits or removes the commodity is quite discouraging, to say the least. Having so many states limit production, and having that effect apply to all systems where the faction is present... It's downright mean.

We won't give up though. We'll probably get the supply stabilized just in time for FD to decide to change it.

Yes, those Meta-Alloys.

And yes, the fact that they are broken and subject to UA trolling too is the joke :p

Aww,     , man. I never even considered you could UA bomb Dardnelle's Progress.

Quick, we all need to forget that!

Its incredible what havoc one thirsty "Engineer" can do to markets...
Cant even get slightly        anymore because of scarcity, How am I to land my 'Conda now .(

Cheers Cmdr's

Well, maybe the whole 2.1 update was just a bad marketing. If the name of the update was "2.1 Bookmarks" everyone is happy now (AFAIK the bookmarks is the only thing in the whole update which more or less works as probably intended) and 99% of players have no idea about the existence of some crazy NPC clowns on some distant planets, trying to do a qiss poor random messing with ship outfit in exchange for items impossible to get in-game.

We need to nerf bookmarks....I am finding them way too useful.

They could have called it 2.1 "NPC Faces" if it weren't for the fact that half of them seem to have joined a skinhead gang and the other half decided to glue spare Brillo pads to their heads with rubber cement.

Yeah, definitely a bit of a setback in the effort to get the rare production back up. The controlling faction is in at least 6 systems, so keeping the Brandy available is going to be a constant challenge. It might take us a couple weeks to get it stabilized. Even then, it will always be susceptible to limiting states.

FD have finally killed rare trading. :(

What needs to be done to end the retreat? Will raising the influence of the controlling faction fix it?

Perhaps we should implement should kind of forum alert system to alert everyone once the lavian brandy is back at full production speed.

From what we've seen, there's no way to end the Retreat state early. You can work on the faction's influence to determine if they stay in the system at the end of the 5 day retreat state, but it won't end early.

It's possible that you could interrupt the retreat state with a conflict, but that's even longer that the supply will be messed up. Conflict pending for 3 days while the retreat is active, then conflict active for minimum 4 days. Net result is worse than waiting out the Retreat.

I filed a bug report here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=263229 I don't think it's right that retreat from another system should eliminate supply of a rare from the faction's home system.
