no "Oculus Rift (headphones/speakers)" option listed in full game????

As the title says i don't have that option in the full game, the combat tutorial single player does and it works perfectly... So why does one part of the game have this setting but the normal online "full game" doesn't??? anyone have any ideas??? :S

Have you created a ticket to report this issue? Without the option, how does the sound behave with the rift? Does it change when you turn your head (headphone setting) or does it stay the same regardless of your head orientation (speaker setting)?

That is odd.. I play Elite only in the Rift, works like a charm. Not sure why that option isn't showing for you. Perhaps uninstall / reinstall?

i had to restart the oculus service and then it recognized for me

I had this same thing. I had to install the newest version of the oculus runtime from the oculus website. As soon as I did that elite gave me the option

Make sure you turn the rift on before you start the game. The option will not appear in the menu otherwise.

that did the trick! i was unaware there was a new version and now im sucked into the world! im glad it was that easy

Don't forget, you have to run it in extended mode, not direct mode.

When you start ED, if the game isn't on the correct monitor, make sure it is the active window an then use WinKey-Lshift-Arrow to move it over.
