No Odyssey coming to Console? Account transfer then.

I have invested over 5000 hours into playing this game. Spent nearly $1300 USD on Frontier Points/Arx through out the many years playing the game.

To be told that Odyssey will not be coming to console? Then I humbly request that I would like to transfer my account over to PC Elite Dangerous:Odyssey

Not just credits.

ALL OF IT, a carbon copy of my account over to PC. My full progression.
With my ships, their engineering, my credits, codex stats, ranks, materials, bookmarks, purchased cosmetics, my squadron trophies(not my squadron) and fleet carrier. All of it. My total progression whilst on Elite.
I don't care if i have to pay for the transfer.
This is not a ludicrous request either. It's a fair request by your player base.

Frontier needs to be flexible with their console players. If your not going to give us Odyssey then fair enough but at least give us the option to continue on pc with our accounts so we can pick up where we left off. I don't care about buying the game again... I'd happy give my money to my favorite game. Just give us the option to do so.

This should be with in a reasonable request from console players.

I think a one-off pack of:

  • Engineer Unlocks
  • Fed / Imp Rank
  • Engineering Materials

That verified console CMDRs prior to this announcement could choose to have given to a PC CMDR verified as also being theirs would be an acceptable alternative.

And what about stuff like legacy engineered modules that are impossible to replicate? Like my Cutter's class 5 shields?

Hey - yeh - for sure, I’d much rather have a “transfer all my PlayStation CMDRs stuff to my existing PC CMDR without deleting anything my PC CMDR already has” option - I have some tasty CG Rail Guns and all sorts I would like to keep.

But if that’s not on the cards then there are compromises I would accept.

Well, we know it's possible, since they have all the cmdr data stored on Frontier's servers, and there was that time a couple of years back when you could play the PC version literally on your XBox cmdr linked to the same frontier account.

I've asked the exact thing here. I didn't buy Odyssey on PC because I did fear this would happen. I do have a Horizons account on PC but, not Odyssey.

Hopefully this 'nothing to announce' doesn't go the same way as PS5 support.
Fingers crossed they can find a solution as I really don’t like the idea of losing my discoveries, ranks and unique mods etc. if after saving up for a gaming laptop/PC I’m then not able to port stuff over… :-/

Oh, for sure - it’s just a database somewhere … they could look at what my PS CMDR has, add it to my PC CMDR and then remove it from my PS CMDR. It’s not technically difficult … it’s whether they can/want-to manage it at scale as I’m sure I would be far from the only person wanting to do this!!

I'd wager several of us here could literally write a script to do it in a single afternoon, if we knew the fundamentals of their account server.

They just need to work out a cross platform save feature. Even if it only functions on the dev side. All this free Horizons and Odyssey jargon for console swap with complete account copy however is silly. Some of us saw the writing on the wall in October and made the switch bringing with us nothing but credits and knowledge that we didn’t have at the start when we began.

I feel the console pain, especially the folks with more than a few thousand hours in. I’m confident they are going to do their best to do full port overs. But this jargon about wanting it for free is just silly as hell.

Frontier Developments

You just stabbed all of your console players in the back with this & you will lose alot of players. Mark my words.
We hope that with your heavy heart that you will find a way to rectify this and allow us lowly "CONSOLE PLAYERS" the opportunity merge our Playstation accounts to pc Odyssey.

Until then
I quit this game and this company.

It's already done. It's called the Frontier API. It reports all of your commander data to third party apps and websites like Inara and EDSM.

All FDev has to do is have it import the data back to the game. FDev could store the imported API data to your game account at Frontier. You login, and choose to have the API data loaded to your current commander, or, FDev could finally give us a "second commander" account for which we could import the API data bach from Frontier

It could be done by FDev if they really want to save the console customer base.

As well as a transfer I would also like all ex PS4 cmdr’s to have access to the Cobra MKIV in recompense for the situation and the fact PS4 Cmdr’s never had a chance to own one - even as a PS4 pre-orderer!

My co-squadron leader has been showing me many hours of Star Citizen footage. He quit elite well over 8 months ago.
Like myself he too invested 5k+ hours on Elite yet chose to stay with star citizen. We all love Elite for it's untapped potential....
Year after year we see that potential getting flushed away with excuses, false advertisements & mediocre game developments.

If I'm going to play a "space sim" on pc. I might as well play the game that not only graphically looks better but has more to offer.
The graphics on Odyssey don't even look that great in comparison.
Thats the truth. A fact actually. The next up date for star citizen.. players will be able to dive under water and will be introducing rivers into the game..where as in Elite a player can't even board another players ship. At this point Elite is really behind.
It was a "passion project" ran by a passionate development team but somewhere down the line they became way too corporate and got lost forgetting that the player base is what matters..
I'd like to give Frontier another chance to make things right with the player base. Using account transfers to pc but if they can't even do that then I'm making the Change play the sim that has alot more to offer.
