By now, chances are anyone reading these lines knows there's no offline play in E:D -- at least not at release -- ever since this was published. Hate it, like it, don't care about it, we've probably all read and/or had a good amount of discussions on the topic, and have our own way of seeing it.

The purpose of this thread is not to beat a dead horse, but to get as good a picture as we can of what this community thinks of this issue, and to do that by getting as many answers as possible to this poll.

Please answer the poll and then bump up the thread, if anything with a simple "word!" or whatnot :)

Originally i was against no offline mode play however i realized that since beta 3.9 i have only been playing in open play habitually. While an offline mode would be great for those with no or little net connection(of which I'm a part of) the game itself needs all the players to help develop the economies and universe wide actions over time(I'm talking about alot of players not just one)

You barely even see other CMDR's out there as it was in the pill let alone the whole dam galaxy. There's alot more to explore mine and trade out of the core systems.
When you do see others its a WOOOO CMDR, send Comms flash lights, trade info situation.
Unless you meet a pirate in which case its a great little fight which you will remember.

I'm now in support of only open play

Good not to be offline, or not Good not to be offline - that is not a question! The question is: WHAT we will do when online just not to be, oops?!:)

Holy facepalm. Not another thread on this, really? And yes, you are beating a dead horse.

Next time, please add the 'close thread' vote option. Thanks.

Shok.

Hi OP
Just wondering if you are still considering buying the game?
Thanks!

Hi SP! That's a bit of a weird question/post-digging you did there. But, no, I'm no longer considering buying it ;)

Thanks for the answers everyone. For those who thinks this is/should remain a very dead horse indeed, can you point to me one other thread with a poll on this? I couldn't locate one when I searched before posting this.

I also understand the poll may be skewed by all those who already left the building in anger after the announcement, but for the rest, I can't wait to see y'all in game :)

I hear that there is a small tribe in the brazilian rain forest who dont know about the decision to scrap offline mode. But never fear, missionaries are on there way in canoes as we speak...

Lol, have my rep

And to you OP, even those guys in the rain forrest play online these days, why cant you ?

Déjà vu - from French, literally "already seen", is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced has been experienced in the past, whether it has actually happened or not.

It boils down to FD did it. It is a done deal. There has been users and Devs threatened. There is no reason to ask what people think because it is done and over. All it serves now is a fodder for arguments that mean noting and can't go anywhere.

Why do you assume I cannot?

I'm genuinely interested in having a poll to get, personally, an understanding of what this community leans towards.

That, to me, is a good enough reason. I'm not arguing either way, if you may notice.

But to what end... the end justifies the means? The amount of discontent and hatred stirred just because you are curious?
