Powerplay no one in harma?? finding peeps to play with bored ou of my tree

Hey folks I'm pledged in the harma system. I'm bored out of my mind. All my ships are parked in harma. I don't see anyone else ever. Constantly on open play. The missions for powerplay only pay out 1000 creds per kill. And they often take about 50 to 80 light years out of to get to combat. Then you fly your ship out there. And get taken out by interdicting anacondas before you make it anywhere close to a control system. To get your reward. It's bloody pointless. So I stopped doing it.

Can we fix the powerplay so it's not so dam pointless? Also anyone want to wing before I quit forever? Is anyone else even near harma?

There are lots of us based in Harma - we are out doing PP stuff. Keep in mind Powerplay is not a way to make fast money, or building up credits to buy better ships - it is a money and time sink. Follow the Reddit and the IRC chat and that's probably the best way to find folks to wing up with.

I know this post is old... but there is no one anywhere. I'm in the same spot Cephalopod was in 8 months ago... there is no one in Open Play whatsoever. Been undermining enemy systems for 3 weeks and have seen a total of 1 enemy PC commander. 1.

Everyone hides in solo mode, grinding merits for no apparent reason.

Unless they either provide different Galaxies for the different modes or incentivize people somehow to join Open play... then PP is just another meaningless grind. (Not unlike the rest of the game.)

Really sad state of affairs. But hey, we can't possibly invade the "Safe Space" of countless carebears.

I went and undermine in Archon Delaine's turf a few times and decided to go to Harma for a few screenshots… I remember crapping my pants when jumping in, thinking I would be getting constant interdiction with my LYR tag.
Turned out no one was there, not even inside the main station. I was there for 3 days.

The state of PP is sorry as hell. There is no one to be found in Open Play... and why would you? You can achieve the same meaningless grind without worry about dealing with enemies.

So much potential absolutely wasted so carebears can grind merit ranks with no risk. Absolutely insane.

When I jump into a system I love that feeling of "Whoah- hollow squares" good / bad ? - hail / go silent running?

There's a lot of "Open is for PvP" that goes on and tough talk, but I have had a couple of people follow my lead.
Which is: other CMDRs make the play interesting. Some folks will do a denial of access to a trade route - have to go somewhere else.
But there are so many cool and funny and real people in open NOT doing the PvP that you're just missing out.

I only play where I can be with other commanders.
Either Open or a private group - Private group if that's where my wing is.
And before I use a Private Group is Say: "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good"

I wish I could find these people.

That means there are actually a lot of people playing there... they're just cowering in solo mode of private mode.

I just wish Open could have its own setup rather than sharing with thousands of invisible pilots, essentially removing all meaning/strategy and replacing it with grind grind grind grind grind.

What a blown opportunity to actually have meaning in this game.

You are right, most of the people engaged in power play just hide in solo/private when they start to grind. But if you really want pvp with other factions, you can have it pretty easy. For ALD faction commanders get fat bonuses for bounty hunting, so go in the ALD systems with HAZRES, and most of the time you will find a lot of bounty hunters pledged with ALD.

PS: i strongly recommend you a ship capable of hit and run shenanigans, and in my opinion the best ship for this is Clipper for the moment (ram and torpedoes ftw, go pythons and anacondas). I also heard a lot of good things about FAS, and is next on my shopping list.
