No plans for Camp Cretaceous content for JWE2

Hopefully there will be a Camp Cretaceous update either when the show finishes or due to popular, but it still doesn’t take away just how disappointing this piece of news is.

Really? ...so does this mean no Monolophosaurus, Ouranosaurus or Scorpios? Or just the building stuff?
The context of the tweet revolves around the story, but the use of the blanket term "content" sounds more like a no to everything from Camp Cretaceous.

"No plans" is also very definitive, which is unusual compared with the usual "nothing to announce".

Taking influence from it is still quite the possibility, but yeah I wouldn't expect a Scorpius to be on the cards (canonically it is supposed to be lost information I suppose).

Nooo, I need my duck dino. :(

I wouldn’t write off Ducky just yet, but E750, Monos, and glow in the dark Paras are probably in a bucket marked “future dlc maybe idk”

While it is unfortunate there are no plans, it does not mean it will never happen, this reminds me a lot of the pteranodon request back when JWE was still new.

Like how others have mentioned, it will probably part of a later DLC or update. I think it may come when all of the Camp Cretaceous Seasons are over, at least they will have a sizable source to work with if they want to incorporate it to the game. I am interested if they take 3750's characteristics into gameplay, like poisoning other dinosaurs, causing them to rampage, being able to jump over fences, and be mesmerized by strong light sources. It looks to be a project that may need some time in the oven compared to other dinosaurs.

yet... if im going guess if season 4 will finish they will add them or post launch.
The current thought is season 5 for the end of CC based on Gabeluna's intel, it would likely be January.

That would safely be after launch, but if there's currently no plans at all after 3 seasons, a finale would seem unlikely to motivate it.

Hopefully this is the case, because I really can’t imagine Frontier to outright refuse/be legally unable to incorporate Camp Cretaceous assets into the game whilst the Ludia have them in their mobile games. The show is also too successful to ignore, what with it receiving critical acclaim from critics and fans of the franchise and reaching within the Netflix's top 10 or even top 5 of the week in multiple countries.

The list of features that could be included in such a DLC is truly vast; new dinosaurs, new buildings, dinosaur skins, vehicle skins and maybe even an additional “what if” campaign for Chaos Theory mode.

There’s a key word in plenty of statements like that l one you shared, something explains their contexts a lot that a lot fail to see or understand: current/currently.

Meaning: There is nothing planned for anything to share regarding such thing right now. This can change over time, and is not a definite or explicit “never” or “no, we won’t” answer, even if that may end up being internally true. And it’s the same with their other statements that don’t explicitly say such a word. They won’t share more on the subject because things can change dramatically before potential announcement, and it is too early for additional content outside of the base game to be shared. They even confirmed in their latest livestream there's "currently" nothing regarding Camp Cretaceous content.

The current known scope that they’ve confirmed is their focusing on the base game to come out the best it can be at launch. Later on in the coming months before or after launch, there might be more plans thought out before announcement. That’s not to say Camp Cretaceous content will be planned to be a thing eventually, or will such content won’t ever be a thing either, I’m just saying anything is possible.

What he said.

My personal stance on CC critters in JWE2 should be no, not ever.

The reason for this is simple, CC is a CG animated cartoon. Frontier has spent time and money to make the 3D dino models and skins as realistic as scientifically possible. Adding CC critters as depicted in CC, which is what everyone would want, would, imo, subtract from all that hard work towards realism. Then there are licensing fees to boot. I just don't see it happening.

I will never say never though.

This has to be a joke post, yes?

The reason you stated is the exact reason why they'd be in with MINIMAL effort, once you remove the erroneous assumption.
What assumption is that?

I don't care that it would take minimal effort, which is an assumption btw. That's my opinion on it, which I am entitled to. Sorry you don't agree with me, but you are entitled to yours.

Have a great day.

You're entitled to your opinion, and you're entitled to criticism of that opinion if it's on the silly side.

I personally disliked E750's design, but I don't think the cartoonish art style is a real barrier to implimenting CC content in JWE2. While I'm sure there would be a few basket cases who inexplicably won't stand that something that wasn't simply copy-pasted to look identical in every minute detail, I think most people reasonably expect JWE's to just add their own interpretation of E750, Monolophosaurus, etc., and maybe a bioluminesence skin gene.

The fact that it's a CGI series means the textures can just be transplanted into the game.
