No population updates anymore

Hi all,

i figured that there are no population updates anymore. Last week they happened regularly each day at around 20:00 UTC. Then we had a double dip the night to Thursday and during Thursday's weekly maintenance. Since then... almost nothing. One tick Friday night.

So instead of 4 ticks on Friday - Monday we had one.

It seems to be a UI bug. My markets changed as if the population had grown but the displayed population hasn't moved. I've had a 14x increase in market volume but 0 visible increase in pop. The tick seemed slow to arrive. I'm not sure I got a Monday tick but it's hard to tell when the usual value I use to check isn't changing.

Interesting point. Nevertheless, when recalcutating the supposed population from the market numbers, i arrive at a value that is roundabout 1 tick above the number of actual ticks i counted (148m vs. 118m, and ticks were at 26m per tick). And whether this is correct is another issue.

The behavior i have seen in markets is that the population increase leads the supply increase. So first there is the population increase, then the supply slowly builds up to a new equilibrium for the population number.

So yes, might be an UI issue, but if it is, the ticks still don't happen. It isn't only UI, however, the "Location" event in the API also shows the wrong number.

I'm not ruling out multiple issues or missed ticks just that there are some population changes going through. My visible pop system pop is still showing 16k. The market volumes are now approaching 100k and were at 6k on sunday. Something is partially moving on the backend as I don't think that's just the market building up to equilibrium with the displayed pop.

The political tick seems to have been absent for a few days now, from reports, which may include the bit which copies the system population from one server to another. The markets being able to see it but the rest of the game not because they're looking at different copies seems plausible.

Some of my systems have had their population update in the last 8-10 hours (didn't pay too close attention), might be worth checking your own for it. (And keep an eye on whether it continues to increase)

it looks like the population updates have ticked through to the other servers. Interestingly and I've not noticed this before now it appears that each body has a population. The increased population on my refinery body has not changed the market on my outpost orbiting a different body. This is unfortunate.

Each station has its own population (though it does appear this might be somewhat influenced by the associated body)

It may be that your outpost (especially if it was constructed a while ago) is already at its maximum.

It's not the max population for an outpost should be closer to 40k and it's just over 8 days old so should still be in it's initial growth period. The reason I'm surprised is that I have 4 others of this same outpost type and this is only slightly above the incredibly low values that we had on initial release where the outpost never grew it's market and nothing had over double didgit supply. Compared to later builds which had 1-2 orders of magnitude more goods for the same outpost type. To me I'm yet again seeing new market behaviour.
