No RAILS for Boats and Safari Cars

I have over 200 hours in Planet Zoo and love the game, but one element I find myself almost never using is the rides. I would love to use them, but the current rail system is incredibly clunky to set up and a bit of an eye sore as well. For monorails and trains, it is an expected aspect of the ride, (however it would be great if those rails could have pedestrian crossings such as bridges or archways, so they don't end up cutting off a part of the zoo entirely, unless set on the perimeter). When it comes to Boats and Safari cars, though, I feel the rails are just weird. Ideally, if both of these rides could move in a line between checkpoints that mark the track, it would be ideal and much more natural. However, if the programming behind that is too complicated to implement, just an option to make boat and safari rails invisible like the null barriers for instance, would at least solve the really weird aesthetic of having rails in a river or in a habitat.

Thank you!

There is opportunity for this via unofficial mods on Planet Zoo+ - but I agree with the fact that we should get a lot more functionality for basegame and vanilla players. Often times the tracks are very clunky so I would love to see some less obstructive trains, boats, and tracks be incorporated, possibly within an update in the future.

I support this idea very much!

I gather that the rides were imported mostly whole cloth from planet coaster where much of the fun was about making crazy rides - and the system was complex to support that, they simplified it somewhat but not enought. But, it's not so good for this game (IMO). I never use the rides, they are just too complicated to use - on top of fighting with the water and the paths, it got too much for me to deal with. I wish they had just used the exact same mechanics as the pathing system (as annoying as that can be), and had a toggle or check box to indicate it's a ride (and a station you attach to the path like the restaurants) or something like that. If they'd done that, there would have been a fairly simple fix to make underwater paths.

I would say leave everything regarding the rides / rails exactly as it is with just a visibility switch for boats and safari vehicles, as @spellcatcher said. That should not be difficult to implement for an update. Does anyone know where to make a formal suggestion to Frontier?

actually, i built a boat ride through my crocodile enclosure last night, and the croc kept getting stuck in the rail and blocking the boats. I think both the visibility and the collision mesh needs to be turned off
